The prawn at hubbub is so good. I feel the same about both places though. Great sandwich, but not filling enough for 12-13 bucks with a pop. |

It's delicious, but not too filling. A sandwich, side, and drink will run you around ~$15. I'm pretty much exactly content after the meal. I'm not stuffed, but I couldn't eat too much more after if I tried. It's a completely different style than Meat and Bread. Meat and Bread relies almost completely on their meat. Hubbub has all the ingredients complimenting one another. |
Hy's Vancouver had the gorgonzola filet with lobster, i really cannot get enough of their cheese bread though and steak tartare :sweetjesus: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...ps43570886.jpg service was impecable as usual, I actually prefer the Vancouver location much over the Whistler one 9/10 |
http://distilleryimage11.s3.amazonaw...0a1f9aae_7.jpg Finally tried Slickity Jim's for brunch. Nice selection of food. The benny's were good. They add a nice garlic butter to the english muffin to give it an extra little something. Not a fan of the smashed potato hashbrowns, but I know some people prefer this over others. Coffee was good. Service was good. Probably won't come back, just because there are much better brunch places for the same price. But it was somewhere I've always wanted to try. |
How much was the benny? To me the presentation is pretty sad and doesn't really look that great. But if it were cheap I would let it slide. My favorite place for a Benny is at Jimmy's Restaurant in Coquitlam. Everything there is just done right. Especially the hashbrowns. http://a3.urbancdn.com/w/s/Z8/Q8I2IXfITXVXkt-640m.jpg |
Slickity's was pretty standard price at $11. I just always drive by and wanted to try it. I've yet to have a better Benny than Cafe Zen. They have around 10 different kinds, and they encourage you to mix and match! http://distilleryimage5.s3.amazonaws...0a9f124c_7.jpg |
Amici's in West Vancouver had the Linguini Amici Best damn pasta I've ever eaten, as long as you can handle spice Rack of lamb was MONEY too 8.5/10 easily |

Everything at Red Wagon is super rich, thick, greasy, and don't-give-a-fuck delicious. Zen is more mellow and conservative, but everything is made very perfect. |
Mambo Cafe in Aberdeen food court Baked seafood rice with cream and cheese. $7.50, comes with hot drink. +$0.50 for cold drink. Cash only. 8/10 considering its price and convenience. It's your typical HK cafe food. http://i.imgur.com/avx5Mka.jpg |
http://distilleryimage1.s3.amazonaws...0a1f98cf_7.jpg Meat and Bread. Like posted at the top of this page, it's damn delicious, but pricey. I went to satisfy a craving. Oh, and don't get that SIP drink I'm having. Rosemary and lime soda. Sounds interesting, but it's bland as hell. Like drinking Perrier. |
https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...02075423_o.jpg Romer rib righteous burger with the "gluten free" option. i liked it 9/10 https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...96543699_o.jpg Beef rouladen, cafekatzjammer, a bit salty 7.5/10 |
OMG I miss the Cafe Katzenjammer! :sweetjesus: Must visit! |
That Beef Rouladen looks interesting |
Off topic: Tropika closed down in Aberdeen. Heard they owe Aberdeen a couple months in rent too The shanghai resturant on 2nd floor under Tropika management closed down also... Pho Han on capstan way & garden city 8/10 |
Boston Pizza Meatballs Spaghetti 6/10 I don't see how they could charge 19 bucks for this. Over-cooked pasta and 3 measly meatballs. Good thing it was free. |
Brooklyn Steak/Seafood in Seattle Very pricey, but holy damn was everything good. Oysters, appies, main course, service, presentation. Best finer dining I've had in Seattle so far http://distilleryimage3.instagram.co...0a9e0846_7.jpg |
Sushi by Yuji 9/10 I think this is one of the best sushi places in GVA. (if not best) I used to hate Wild sockeye salmon but after eating Yuji's , Damn i have a change of heart , the texture of it was simply amazing, so fresh and was presented so nicely. I usually only eat a place run by Japanese run places because I know for a fact that people like Yuji take pride into his work and creation and that is something I have great respect for as I love food and must have quality over quantity. I care about what goes into my body when it comes to food. I recommend everyone try this place because you won't regret it. Boy that was a lot of sentences beginning with "I" .. :suspicious: |
Friends BBQ Restaurant (Old Mui Garden location on North Road) -10/10 THAT BAD. For a resto that just opened up..you'd think they would be organized and well prepared..WRONG. Waited almost an hour for our food. 3 bowls of noods with bbq meat and 1 plate of bbq combo with rice. I mean, how hard is it to chop up already made bbq meat onto noodles and rice? The manager even had the balls to come over and say "we're down 2 people..and the computer is broken." It's day 2 of opening. COME ON!! Oh and to make it even worse..the meat was TERRIBLE. Soft and bleh skin, tough and chewy meat, AND tasteless. DON'T COME HERE!!!! |
Electric Owl 8/10 Pretty good food for a stinky hipster bar. Posted via RS Mobile |
