They also have the beef hotdog which is shorter but fatter. That looks like the bavarian sausage, which tastes better IMO.

ConCho 12-12-2011 08:51 AM

Ya, the price at Costco for their hotdogs dropped, but fries are a bit smaller. Gotta get it with gravy (:

The food court manager at Willingdon Costco is really stingy. He can tell if it's over a certain weight or not, and then he reminds you about weighing the food.
Fries have to be 9oz. Poutine 10oz + 5 oz cheese and 4-6 pumps of gravy. Chicken strips with 8oz fries and 4 chicken strips. Hell, they even weigh the ice cream, and it has to be 7oz. I forgot what's sundaes, though. Hotdogs are still the same size. After tax, they are $1.68.

The good thing about Costco is that they are really food safe. Every night, we have to clean the place thoroughly; it's such a bitch to do. If you ever order pizza, make sure you ask how long it has been there for. It shouldn't be longer than 45 minutes.

Win or lose, you will know that your food has been treated right, even though you may have small portions of food. :drunk:

Durrann 12-12-2011 11:58 AM

too bad they dont churros at costco..
they are a buck in the costco states

Tandoori King

9/10

Tokyo Joe's Ramen Okawari

Okawari House Special Ramen, Shio style with Gyoza combo.

Okawari Ramen itself includes Char Siu, but the Okawari Ramen Gyoza Combo did not include Char Siu and was not indicated on the menu. Broth was bland. Gyozas weren't very good. Disappointment.

3/10.

Dunn's Famous

(pictured rueben with poutine and slaw... now that i think about it should have got the cherry coke)

ok. So I'm unsure if the pickle is a house a pickle but it was decent tasting enough. Not enough crunch imo for a pickle.

I got the smoked meat medium FAT. It was a little greasy, but my god does it fucking melt in your mouth. Next time i'll go for a little leaner. The rueben itself needs more cheese imo, but I'm comparing it to the monstrosoty that I had at carnagie deli in vegas. The saukraut though was bland imo... like it on the more pickled side.

The poutine gravy is sweet... it's a nice touch honestly.

This + drink cost 20 dollars.

Worth every penny. The thing is im always skeptical when

1) it's a chain (even if it isnt a very big one!)

2) it's in vancouver.

Kinda hard to explain my logic but I would definetly go back, i wanna see how their chopped liver and smoked meat would stack up.

Alphamale 12-13-2011 06:58 PM

Jethro's 9/10

It definitely lives up to the hype and it isn't expensive at all...it's about the same price as Denny's..if not a little bit more expensive for certain items.

This is the Catfish Poboy. It's super fresh tasting and rather light for a deep fried option (you can get it grilled with cajun spices).
http://i646.photobucket.com/albums/u...213_142847.jpg

I forgot what this pancake monstrosity was called but it's the one with pecans, carmel sauce, bananas, and apple strudel. This was shared amongst 4 people. (Pulled pork in the background)
http://i646.photobucket.com/albums/u...213_142908.jpg

This is how much was approximately how much of it was left after we all tapped out.

Just so you can get an idea of pricing...

Four entrees (The Cuba, Poboy, Pulled Pork, and Smoked Salmon Benny) and the pancakes + a cup of coffee and a cup of tea cost $64.xx (tax inc) before tips for four people.
