AYCE, makes sense. But with AYCD as well? Seriously? That can't be right.
If you average it at $15/bottle of sake x 60 bottles.

You're talking about $900 in sake alone. Divide that by 20 people, and that would be $45 in their usual revenue in sake alone. Toss in the beer and food, and there's no way I can them coming out profitable?

Any more info you can share would be much appreciated.

Anyways, Shanghai River.
Decor was nice, service was good, but somehow, I really expected more from the food. It was good and solid, but it just didn't blow me away. I think I've had about the same level of food at other shanghai restaurants.

I believe they drastically under estimated our drinking capabilities. Give the Main st location a call and inquire about it. I attended my buddies birthday party and that was the required payment before sitting down.:)

its a popular idea in japan. there were a few izakaya's i went to that offered nomihoudai and tabehoudai (all you can drink+eat) for like a set price which included everything except the premium sake (they gave u the cheaper stuff). it works in japan since their more weaksauce but im surprised they offer it here. going to inquire about it for sure.

RCubed 03-28-2011 03:59 PM

^Inquire and let me know man. Haha

TRDood 03-28-2011 05:00 PM

$65 per person for AYCE/AYCD sounds like an awesome party!

BT Cafe - 8.5/10 - Officially tried all their stone rices, favourite are the Korean Fatty Beef and the Japanese BBQ Pork. YUM. I cannot believe I haven't had their french toast in weeks, I'm craving and watering right now lol.

Chambar - 9.5/10 - Food good, service good, atmosphere good, cannot complain about this place. Delicious mussels and awesome service. Been here so many times and not a bad time at all. Although I must say maybe it isn't mussel season because they are smaller than usual? Most times they are HUGE AND PLUMP.

Expires March 31st, 2011

Haven't been to Horizons since 2007 and they had that massive fire a year ago, took 7 months to rebuild, place is a lot more open, they took out the raised floor seating area.

My steak and lobster was great, sisters short ribs were a bit dry. Brother in laws lobster tail was a little opaque near the end, but other than that everything was good.

The cheesecake was the best out of 4 desserts (that's just my taste however).

My steak and lobster was pretty good and the pork belly appetizer was great. It was an impromptu weekday, night out cause of the deal. Thanks again for the heads up.
