@ilvtofu is basically anything under the "Thick Toast" Section like that ^ ?

Or is it only the "honey toast ($7.99)", that's that big?

mako 02-25-2011 06:31 AM

No normal thick toast is around $4.50 and is the typical kind you find at other bbt places.

So does the 1/4 of the loaf you order only come in that one flavour, off menu? Or are there other flavour / choices?

Gohan Sushi in Brentwood area on Rosser St.

8/10.

Great service but the food is just above okay. They only use wild salmon but their prices don't reflect it which is pretty awesome. Sashimi is nice and fresh and toro is good.

Really 8/10?

I would agree with you when they first opened, but when I recently went there, everything sucked! especially service!

I guess the fresh sashimi really saves it eh.

I personally wouldn't return. I was debating between a 7 or an 8. I guess it's really more of a 7. Service was good though, lol. Drinks never sat empty and dishes cleared rather promptly.

Penang Delight Café 7/10

Portions too small and expensive but service was good.

Timmys
Soup Combo with Barley and Mushroom soup
Didnt like it, found the taste a little odd
3/5

Go Thai @ Colombia and Braid

Been there a few times for lunch, food has been fresh and tasteful every time.

I had the Go Thai noodle soup and egg roll.
The soup is a curry broth with choice of meat, bean sprouts, cilantro and green onion. The broth was excellent, noodles were cooked just right. Egg roll was freshly cooked.

8.5/10

Uncle Mings
Spicy Pork and Cabbage on Rice
Flavor 9/10 - nice kick with the spicy sauce
Value 10/10 - cannot beat a plate of rice for $5.50

Tulalip Buffet, down south. $20bux for dinner, pretty decent 8/10. The mashed potatoes and cheery cheesecake made my night, so damn good.

Greedy Pig.

Gas town, a hole in the wall type place, when you go inside, you'll smell the smokey taste.

I went with the dishes that I can't make at home, it was the bone marrow and toast which was interesting. their menu is limited but they have a great cheese menu. Will go back and try their pull pork.

limited menu 8/10
food 7.5 / 10
prices are ok
probably won't go back cause nothing on their menu really excite me but if i'm realy drunk, i might stop by.

then again, there's peckinpah, labattori terra cotta, 10 arces, cork and fin etc to try just a bit closer.

307 Cordova st.

Several of us on RS met up during lunch time at The Greedy Pig a while back. While it was good, I can't say it was necessarily the greatest.

Vansterdam 03-01-2011 07:12 PM

$6.75 can get you better food than that in downtown. I just had it cause of lack of options where I work (granville & broadway).

Hime Sushi
8/10

Food and portions were good. Prices are a tad steep.

"Philly Roll, Red Roll, Chopped Scallop Roll"

Decent sizes. They don't use a lot of rice for filler. Chopped scallop and Awesome roll were really good.

Good sushi for the area (Rupert and Broadway) and not terribly expensive. It's priced decently. Imo, better than Sushi Garden but their menu certainly doesn't seem as diverse. Korean owned. This was my first time there and I would return again as I'm in the area frequently.

8/10

edit:
Just wanted to say, if you don't like mushy tuna, don't get the Red Roll. Or was it called Red Fire Roll. Anyways, it seems as though they marinate the tuna a bit in spicy sauce before hand so the tuna loses it's textural properties and becomes mushy. Just FYI. I didn't particularly enjoy and wouldn't order it again, but other people might have different tastes.

^how's the parking? Lol I drive by everyday and I just noticed it yesterday, curious to try it out now

Alphamale 03-04-2011 10:35 PM

There's parking behind the building...which can be hard to find initially. There's spots for about 5 cars or so. To access it, you either have to be heading westbound on Broadway and turn in to the small alley just before Rupert or you can take Rupert (northbound) and make the first right and first right again to access the small alley.

Otherwise, there's plenty of street parking available withing a 1 block radius, so nothing to worry about unless you melt when you get wet or something.
