Exactly. Now that they lost you as a potential customer, what's it going to take for you to go back? Quite a bit, I'm guessing.

Teppan Kitchen at the Aberdeen Food Court. kind of expensive for food court food imo, i got the #1 which was just sirloin beef with rice. beef was too thin so by the time i got to a table, it was completely well done and sticking to the hot plate. not enough beef either. the taste is there though (the sauce was good). should have more meat though... (and i am saying this not because of the stereotypical asian thing where we want more meat for bang for buck)

6.5/10

Went to Hapas Robson because one of the girls we were with wanted to eat....1130pm on sat night....wow, the food was terrible; service was awful, and desserts was compared to horse manure.
You couldn't pay me to go back and eat there for a free meal.
I don't know why that place is so hyped up?...lol, I saw so many people dine and dash out the back door it was funny.

The only good thing about this place; nothing.
2/10

Uncle Mings
Szechuan Fried Rice with Beef
First time trying it and I'm going to get it again
Had just the right amount of 'kick' to it in terms of spicyness
$4.50 lunch special
9/10

The hotness of the waitresses has gone downhill too.. I still remember when they first opened the girls were HOT

Ate at la quercia in kitsilano last weekend. Had the 7 course tasting menu with my gf for 43 dollars a person. Came to 200 with big tip and a good bottle of wine. Best restaurant in Vancouver IMO. 11/10. I eat at la ghianda (their deli) about twice a week.

The $43 menu is roughly 5 courses based on items we are preparing that day. The $59 menu is around 9 courses. Both menus include desert, however the second menu will always include our risotto 'cooked to order'. The courses are served on plates designed for sharing with everyone at the table.

I'm guessing it's still $43/59 per person Even though it says "designed for sharing with everyone at the table"?

The moon at UBC .... my daily lunch... combo A.. $4.50...fried rice with sweet and sour pork..... for some reason I still haven't gotten old of it. it deserves a 100/10

Green Lemongrass

The large bowl of pho doesn't seem so large, when compared to other places.

They didn't offer the 5 or 9 to me. The waiter just offered the 7. The table beside me was the same. It might change, as the menu changes daily. And yeah, they just change the size depending on the size of the table. Also, they made a different menu for us than the table beside us because I am allergic to nuts. Not just the same menu with nuts omitted, but completely different. Also the table on the other side had a completely different menu based on their diet. Very talented kitchen staff there.

Try "Special A". Salted fish diced chicken fried rice. It's not bad at all. Also, their beef brisket egg noodle is awesome too.

I'm on a break for eating out fancy, but la ghianda sounds awesome.
Any more thoughts or comments on it?

westopher 04-05-2011 11:44 PM

Ghianda is awesome. Everything is 10 dollars for lunch. 3 sandwiches, 3 pastas, 3 mains, and 3 soups(which are $6)
Pork milanese and roast beef and arugula are my favorite sandwiches so far.
The pastas quality I find depends who is working. A couple guys are just better with seasoning and such than a couple others. Had a meatball sandwich and shared a rabbit stew with olives and polenta today. Rabbit was fucking amazing. For the price, I couldn't name a better place in the city to go.

Is that the place under the music building? Do they still have the ugly red chairs?
