Ya, 10 million prorated . 61% of the season left which is approx. 6.1 million if contract is signed today leaving them like 3.9 in space. Then by the trading deadline there is only like 1/3 of the season left or less I can't remember the exact number but it's no more then 1/3. So take a 7 million dollar player, you only pay whats left owing for that year so 1/3 of 7 million is 2.33 million.

You'd have to give picks or prospects/players to get anyone worth getting but at least the option is there.

wellwood - sundin - demitra
Sedin - Sedin - Raymond or Hansen
Burrows - Kesler - Bernier
Hordichuk - Johnson - Pyatt

3 playmakers on the same line wouldn't work so well, all 3 are potential centers.
The BKH line should stay, they are perfect together!

Maybe try: D. Sedin - Sundin - H. Sedin Hank has the hands to score and Daniel is a scorer.
Raymond or Bernier - Wellwood - Demitra Another set of 2 playermakers with a sniper/screener.
Burrows - Kesler - Hansen If it ain't broken don't fix it, 3 deadly lines!
Hordichuk - Johnson - Pyatt Big Boys to enforce and pot a couple every now and then. If Raymond slots into the 2nd line then Bernier can slide in for Hordi or Pyatt.

This is rather interesting. Even though we signed Sundin to what will probably be $10mill prorated we still have some decent amount of cash left and in addition could have more if we end up dumping someone like Pyatt later. Either way Gillis could very well add another top 6 near this year and that would be pretty crazy. We now appear to really have a solid #1 and #2 line which is awesome.

Hey, while this doesn't compare to the Laffs, I watched the Canucks vs Ducks at the Honda Center in 2007. I just happened to be in Anaheim at the time. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but during the past few games, didn't Bernier play with Burrows/Kesler? And hansen with the sedins? I would send Hansen down though.

With sedins moving to 2nd line, they should kick ass

alex.w *// 12-18-2008 03:05 PM

sundin always wanted to go to nyr, but with there always maxed out salary cap. there is no possible way to get sundin without disrupting there linup. so therefore sundin just went to vancouver by default.

Harvey Specter 12-18-2008 03:33 PM

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I will be heading to Toronto for work and I will be watching the game in TO.

Edit: Our company deals with Rogers so they have access to tickets for major events. I couldn't land free tickets but I was able to purchase a pair of tickets.
