decent at best??? lol what have been smoking. I like tattoo artists who's work is solid/clean but has a bit of a different twist to it. But hey at the same time I wouldn't get tattooed from your artist Phantom. different strokes for different folks.

gdoh 03-17-2012 06:11 PM

im sorry but i wouldnt get anything done from him his work doesnt look right, there are far better people around town

Dude there's no reason to get all bitchy and defensive, he was just sharing an opinion. I'd value opinions from people like him too

That being said, I honestly don't see any problems with this guy's work. I see solid, confident lines, good proportions, good gradients in shading in colour and b&g...

if you are into his comic book style of tattooing, I don't see why you wouldn't consider him... You guys are going to have to show me some bad examples in his portfolio, because I don't really see anything that stands out as bad, technically at least. Stylistically, that's totally a "to each their own" type of thing

It would totally depend on what he plans on getting

silvercivicdx 03-17-2012 08:18 PM

It's your skin
If u like it get it

I didnt mean to come off bitchy or defensive as you say. I can be very blunt sometimes lol. Its just hard for me to believe someone who is in to tattooing probably as much as I am and knows what good work looks like would call it "decent"

for me decent is your average walk in street shop. Like I said I wouldn't get tattooed by his artist at RainCity but I still think hes a lot better than decent, his traditional style just doesn't do anything for me. Like this artist Rob's style probably doesn't do anything for him. Thats all I ment. Anyways I really like this guys Japanese work its kick ass. For the record I'm not some tattoo newbie either I have been obsessed with and steadily tattooed for 13 years now.

phantom x 03-18-2012 06:59 PM

are you gonna stop??,.. i stated my opinion.

phantom x 03-18-2012 07:17 PM

post up your tattoos would love to see them.

SkinnyPupp 03-18-2012 07:53 PM

I know it's just a matter of taste, but would you explain why you think that guy's work is no good? I am ready and willing to be convinced, I just don't see it myself...

xilley 03-18-2012 11:41 PM

honestly, i think some stuff from Rob at B&B arent so bad.
theres some nice work, like the daruma and the hanya, those two are pretty nice imo.

and I also like his shading of the madala

phantom x 03-19-2012 09:50 AM

it "seems" that he gets abit lazy with some of the details around his work ,.. maybe it's just his style.

phantom x 03-19-2012 10:43 AM

anyways ,.. i just finished 2.5 hours of touchups on both sleeves last night !.. after i'm healed i will post pics!

SkinnyPupp 03-20-2012 07:09 AM

Anyway, I was hoping we could carve our own little sub group here on RS, without arguing and shit. Hope that was it ;)

you guys know anything about sacred heart tattoo? Sacred Heart tattoo and Piercing

Are they any good at Japanese art tattoos? Anyone they could recommend and prices

westopher 03-23-2012 12:28 AM

Look at the portfolios. Shops don't give good tattoos, artists do. Look at as many artists as you can portfolios online. As for price, most places are in the 150 dollar an hour realm.
