questions can you change the bluetooth name? where do u find ur bb messenger pin #? where do u find out what firmware version u are running? whats the biggest microsd card u can use? i see 8G's are available thanx... just playing around with it right now... ohh, and will unlocking it do anything to it other than use other sim cards?? wow rs runs slow on this! |

*PIN is in Options/Status/PIN *FW is in Options/About. It's the one right underneath where it says Blackberry 9000 Smartphone *I know 8GB works. That's what I have. It supports SDHC, so I would imagine 16GB is OK. I can't manage to fill 8GB so 16GB might be overkill :D Unlocking only gives you the option to use any providers SIM, nothing more. |
^^ just to add to that..if u wanna see your pin you can also look on the side of your box. |
You want to know your pin? just type "mypin" without quotation marks and press space afterwards and it'll automatically type in your pin works really well when you're sending text or emails and you want the other person to add you to bb messenger |
WTF? My bold is made in Hungary?! thanx, changed my bt name... Ballz W/ Sauce (letters off my license plate) |
Made in Europe! Almost as good as Made in Japan. :D |
is this the most up to date firmware? v4.6.0.162 (plateform 4.0.0.155) branding version 1.0.107.193 (i assume for rogers) sigh, so weird, going from a strong 7 or so of all sonyericsson phones charger looks similar to motorola charger. what do u set ur quick launch buttons to? so far, i set the left one for keypad locking, and the right one for bb messenger... |
left: Select profile (Vibrate, Loud, etc.) right: Camera Yep.. Same charger as Motorola. I charge my phone at my gfs place with her Moto charger. |
can you change the ringtone? |
left = bbm right = voice command. Mines made in Canada. w00t |

or go to your sound profile and go to advanced (very bottom) and you can edit all your ring tones for your profile from there. how do i check where its made? |
it says right on the box it came in. but some of the hardware is from china... eg, battery, earbuds, Quote:

For my quick buttons, Since I'm a lefty I have the Left: Camera Right: Tab function to swtich between open applications I know I may have asked this question to death. But how do the fellow RS'ers pimp their bold? What applications, programs, themes have you installed? I'm looking for a better weather, stock application |

anything special about the new versions? will my bb make milkshakes? cuz if it doesnt, im so returning this pos! haha, finally slowly getting how to use this damn phone just dont get this stupid icon! its got a number 2 next to it, blue box with 4 white dots. now i understand the whole * in the corner thing means its unread. but there is nothing left to read and the damn icon is still there! |
Quote:
BTW, it doesn't make milkshakes - it makes BB Tea. :D That's what the BB means! It doesn't mean BlackBerry. :D Can you take a picture of teh blue box with white dots? It sounds like the Blackberry Messenger icon (although that's 7 dots and not 4 dots) |
for fuck sakes! god damn bb messenger program within a folder of a fucking folder!!!! nevermind, solved the damn attention whore icon! |
now i want to change the background... |

As for firmware updates, I've been using .210 for a long time now and its been really stable. There arent huge differences between versions, but some say menus load faster, phone boots up faster, more available memory etc |
gonna wait til i get the microSD card. i need to transfer a bunch of stuff over. 8GB isnt bad, i can use some of it as RS temp backup. |
left: options right: camera wallpaper: canucks wallpaper i cut on my pc and sent over to my bold using a 4gig right now and its for pics and music |
Personally I don't find BBs to be that great for media... I still use my 1gb 1st gen iPod nano over my BB for music lol. |

But the BB bold is GREAT for when you want it to be stationary while you're cooking, cleaning etc I believe there are 3 speakers, and the sound is crystal clear |
