i use the bold at the gym sometimes. i rather use the nano since i can change songs without looking at the thing. On the bold, i gotta pull it out, unlock it and then change the song.

Grandmaster TSE 02-18-2009 12:07 PM

yeah, the music is really clear and the speakers are loud on the bold

When I use me bb bold for music I just press and hold the voulme key to skip tracks. This is in the holster however, which I always use.

Yeah its weird how some ppl never really have to upgrade their firmware at all.
On crackberry alot of users feel like every bold has its own personality because they all react differently to firmwares, even if its the exact same version

LsquareD 02-18-2009 02:54 PM

Things that new Bold users should know:

Hold "Q" to switch to 2 different profiles. (Default: Normal -> Vibrate. Vibrate -> Normal)
Hold "A" to lock your phone.
Switch through music tracks by holding the up/down volume key. (Up = next, down = previous)
You can hide/move applications and folders to give it a cleaner/organized look.
Highlighting words to copy and paste: Hold SHIFT (aA button) and use the trackball to highlight and press menu button to copy/paste.
Capslock: Hold left ALT and press the right SHIFT button.
The Bold is bullet proof. Give it a shot ;)

Amen to their service!

I've never seen someone put that much care on a screen protector before.

where can i get invisible protector and screen protector for blackberry curve 8900 ?

ef8 02-18-2009 11:47 PM

Lookin good!
I got my parts from cnn.cn, but the microSD door came broken. Have to wait another couple weeks for them to send me another one :(

w00tgasm 02-18-2009 11:51 PM

Haha,
It was a bitch to put back on... It was probably because I didn't want to remove the screen from the board... So I kinda had to wedge that thing in.

Major difficulties: Those silver charging things in the bottom corner.
Getting the buttons to stay in while putting it back together.
Getting over the snapping noises when putting it together.

End result: worth it.

Be sure to get a nice sharp blade to save the warranty sticker on the screw!

how you add chinese to it?
damn, i want chinese so i can see all my song titles instead of square boxes and shit

!SG 02-19-2009 06:49 AM

its software. i assume its something similar to fonts. i just saw it as an option at phonemore so got it done there all at the same time.

they also have crystal cases available for the bold 9000. i was contimplating on getting one, as i have a crystal case for my sony ericssons and it doesnt really make the phone any bigger.

now i start looking at the applications.

QUESTION:

this map thing, i assume its actually downloading the maps right? so it counts towards my bandwidth usuage?

I'm pretty sure (don't quote me on it because I haven't done it before) if you download the multilanguage version of the firmware, and then when installing the firmware selecting the language you want, you can add the chinese language input and display.

Yes, it downloads maps as you move around. Yes, it will count towards your data usage.

w00tgasm 02-20-2009 02:54 PM

What do you guys think about the denim backing for this phone?
http://cnn.cn/shop/blackberry-bold-9...er-p-4688.html

syee 02-20-2009 03:08 PM

Not really liking the denim backing, although if it's real denim, it'll probably be able to take a bit of a beating without looking roughed up. If my BB was blacked out like yours, I'd go for the OEM black to maintain the solid black throughout.
