Overall I like the phone quite a bit. But coming from an iphone I find the bb bold a bit fragile.

How is everyone's bold when they bought or receive it?

My came through Rogers and it kinda seems like a refurb / not new. I mean the battery came 3/4 charged already

all factory batteries are supposed to be charged up to 3/4 when shipped.

!Yaminashi 12-10-2008 12:04 PM

^Yep, If I remember correctly mine was almost full when I got it

Agreed.

But still doesnt explain how the bezel has a pretty bad creaking side and dead pixels in the thing.

Thats pretty unacceptable getting that as a new phone.

If you've got a dead pixel take it into a rogers store, or call them and let them know whats going on

Im sure they'll send you a new one

My dad had some samsung t-33x phone for a couple weeks, called into rogers and told them that he didnt like it, so now theyre sending him a blackberry curve

(Of course he has to pay the difference)

So what firmware are you guys running?

I'm running 4.6.0.167 and I've encountered a small bug (for the second time)

My phone doesnt make a sound, and my red led notification doesnt blink when I get a new bbm message..

Just wanna know what seems to be the most stable firmware

JSilver 12-11-2008 10:59 AM

Just out of curiosity, how much are you guys paying a month for you Bold?

!Yaminashi 12-11-2008 11:59 AM

^Refer to the rogers retentions thread
Seems that almost everyone that posts in there has a bold :lol

Can you still stream? I noticed that the TCP menu has changed on .210. No longer is there an option to input the APN.

Apparently it doesnt flash when you've missed a call

Anyhow I figured out what my problem was, my bbm status was set to unavailable, and it only alerts you and notifies you when you're available

The email setting icon should be in your setup folder.

If its not there, then use a computer and access it here

So who browses RS on their bolds?
I just realized that ever since I flashed my phone, I can no longer log into RS

The username and password boxes just wont show at all :(

Posting this on my bb browser. Opera Mini works too

Gh0stRider 12-12-2008 08:38 PM

I use the bold to access RS. I use the BB browser.

Yes I can.

Got mine updated to .185. The .190 has out but will wait until got reviews from everyone else. So far, i like the .185 OS. I don't see as much improvements as other people review but at least no more memory leak problem.

cspec 12-13-2008 11:11 AM

I liked 190 actually.
