What is your free app memory like?
After a battery pull I have about 53mb available, my last reboot was around 12pm yesterday

As of this post, I have 38.7mb

Anyway I've found a small bug on .210, when I get a new test message, I have 2 little message indicators instead of one lol

31.9MB free on mine. (I haven't restarted it since upgrading to .210 firmware on the weekend.)

45.2MB after a battery pull.

Do you have alot of apps installed?

I did some reading on crackberry and apparently everyone's blackberry responds differently to different firmwares.

I find this weird:haha:

I have a few. Google Mail, Google Maps, Blackberry 411, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Opera, Facebook and Viigo are what I have installed outside of the default stuff. I also removed all but the English languages.

Well, I think youre running a really old firmware thats for sure..

How much space do you have after a reset?
I've read that a bb needs at least 12mb free space to run smoothly

03aspec 12-23-2008 12:13 PM

im running .162 as well and im showing 31.6mb free space..

LsquareD 12-23-2008 02:28 PM

.185 with 31.5mb free space

Klobbersaurus 12-24-2008 12:13 AM

using .185 right now, 54mb after battery pull, had one random shutdown and sometimes it would use the edge network and not 3G when it was available

syee 12-24-2008 12:19 AM

That's one thing I noticed with the 190 firmware. I'd lose the 3G reception quite often. With the 210 firmware it hasn't been so apparent.

JackAss 12-24-2008 12:40 AM

.162 with 33.1mb free space after battery pull...

Klobbersaurus 12-24-2008 07:25 AM

well, i just set it so i wont use 2g and use 3g all the time, no biggie

Gh0stRider 12-24-2008 11:03 AM

41.6mb after soft reset on .162

Klobbersaurus 12-24-2008 05:49 PM

had another reset again or another shutoff, mine just turns off and doesnt boot up again till i pull out the battery, maybe i should go back to the original rogers

jerche 12-25-2008 03:55 PM

anyone know where to get the bottom plain bezel, the one without the rogers branding, locally?
or is the only place to get it is on cnn.cn??

LsquareD 12-25-2008 04:11 PM

All black looks clean! (Not my phone)

Klobbersaurus 12-26-2008 12:29 PM

made the jump to 190, after battery pull 59.2mb of free space, so far no random reset, programs seem to load faster

BadHawk 12-26-2008 02:36 PM

how much mb do u guys average use on the bb bold?
does msn messenger take up alot of mb if u leave it on

Dr-Vn 12-26-2008 03:00 PM

I updated to 190 and have 2 problems.

1) Thumbnails don't seem to have preview
2) Every time I sync with my comp, my background picture gets set back to default.

Anyone know how to fix it? This is really frustrating..

You could do 2 things:

1) Re-load the OS on, I've read that sometimes a reloading solves minor problems
2) Upgrade to .210, I've read the least complaints about this one

Isn't .210 beta? No official released version yet to my knowledge...

It is, but it's probably the most stable of the beta firmwares out there. Using it right now and haven't had a single problem with it yet.

jeff19 12-26-2008 11:54 PM

beta usually just means it's not released yet. Most likely nothing will change from the released version and the one that's "unofficially" out yet.

Yes its beta, however I've read less complaints about .210 than .185 and .190

syee 12-27-2008 12:54 PM

What are some of your "must have" apps that you guys use on your Bold? Right now, I've got the usual apps (The Google Mobile stuff like Maps, Gmail, etc, Beyond411, Opera Mini, MSN Messenger). Looking to see what other apps people are using and what would be useful.
