also, what kind of cases are you guys using for your bolds?

Gh0stRider 12-13-2008 02:10 PM

I'm using the oem silicon skin. It collects a bit of lint, but it doesn't fall out my pocket. Got mine off ebay.

03aspec 12-13-2008 06:46 PM

ive been trying to hunt one down locally, they seem to be sold out....

I used the silicone as well for the pearl, but when i took it up, it had like plastic marks rubbed onto the bottom part of the bold and i tried to clean it with water, but that didn't go well... does it have plastic marks too when you take the cover off?

i'm getting the invis shield but i dont know whether i should go with the silicone too. The belt holster that comes with is just too monstrous

No, i dont see any marks. I use the invisible shield screen protector, not the full body one though.

Got BSE full skin and it's painful to install

I didn't make any setting changes. It just worked from day one.
I can post on RS on both browsers, but I find it better to use Opera Mini.

Yes I can.

You make any setting changes or did it just work? I get the usual connection error at around 45 seconds.

I really like .210, but if I can't get the streaming working I'll have to go back to .190.

Edit: got it working now. Didn't see the spot under the checkbox to input your APN :d

jeff19 12-14-2008 09:43 AM

what's the diff between .210 and .190 ?

I made the same jump. Some things I notice:
- more memory
- my MSN Messenger doesn't get disconnected after a few minutes of use anymore
- I had a random hang problem where my phone would freeze for about 10 seconds. That hasn't happened since updating
- BB browser seems faster
- GPS seems to be finding my location quicker

.210 is working great for me. I'll be keeping this version for a while unless more bugs pop up.

If you aren't having issues with .190 then don't bother updating. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

GomGom 12-14-2008 02:30 PM

^ Usually people want to get things at the best state. That's also the reason I updated from 162 to 185 before even using it.

I bought a Momax screen protector for my bold today.. I messed up the first few times and now the screen protector collected all these dusts and finger prints. Now its all fucked up! SOB! Is there a way to clean/reuse it? I don't want to spend another $15.

You paid $15 for a momax screen protector?

GomGom 12-14-2008 06:16 PM

I have no idea about momax but the BSE screen protector is more efficient to avoid dust and fingerprint because it uses window tinting technique to install which is using water and soap.

damn u may as well have went to phonemore. $5 + they help u apply free of charge. Don't think you'll b able to reuse it anymore, unless it states that it's reusable on the front..

LsquareD 12-14-2008 10:36 PM

Yeah $15 is pricey for a screen protector. I was just desperate to apply one on once the crappy screen protector came off. (The one it comes with when you get a new bold :lol)

Any place in Vancouver that sells for ~$5 + applies screen protectors? Richmond is a bit far for me.

Lots of people I know paid $30+ for the invisible shield for the Bold or iphone.. I don't see any problem with that because the cheap $5 you find comes off easily...

superdanish 12-15-2008 06:44 PM

i love the bold

nope, i paid $5 for a momax protector as well. btw for those of you that have the invisible shield for the bold, does it protect the side bezel as well? or just the front and back?

tamazoid 12-16-2008 09:51 PM

Since we're all talking about screen protectors. I was wondering which one is good?

I've had my Bold since it first came out, and it's been ok so far since it's always in my pocket by itself. I figure I should protect it since it was pretty pricey comared to now.

I already have the oem silicon case. I don't need a full body one. So I just want something for the screen... Which is pretty much the only part that I care about now. I want something that's invisible that won't affect the display quality.

!Yaminashi 12-17-2008 08:52 AM

^Momax is just fine, you can always order off of clarivue.com
Theyre located in Richmond so it gets to you in a few days

jeff19 12-17-2008 09:03 AM

^yeah momax is great. wont even notice that's it's there if u apply it on perfectly.

Plus you can usually tell when theyre good quality right when you remove them from the packaging

Or maybe thats just me after years and years of changing phones, and always buying new screen pros :lol

I can't seem to get my bold unlocked here in Hong Kong without it costing over $250HKD

Anyone know of a good reliable place that isn't going to charge me over $20CDN since I can get it done in Van when I'm back in January
