Does anybody else have another link for twitterberry? Their website has been down since yesterday and I can't grab the program off there. Thanks :D |
Anyone else get a free $5 Bplay code? :p |

Google TwitterBerry and follow the links to the site, it should work then. Paolo |

The only thing I would want is the Guitar Hero World Tour, but that's 11.99 plus tax. But I can't combine the two codes together, and I'm too cheap to pay the difference. lol |

Got a question for some of you other BB experts out there. Currently, my BB is linked to our corporate BES server. I get my Outlook emails and such sent to my BB. My BB is unlocked, and our company wants to keep costs down by giving us US cell phones for when we are down in the US. Since I don't want to carry yet another phone, I figure I'll just bring my US SIM and plug it in my BB... Now, the question is whether the sending of e-mails is tied to the PIN of the BB (so that when I plug in my US SIM, I'll still get emails from the BES server) or is it tied to the SIM (which I don't think it would be because that info was never provided to them when I set up my BB, although Desktop Manager could have possibly pulled it and sent it to the BES during activation) I"m not sure if the US phone has a data plan (still trying to find out from our cell phone admin folks) but I don't want to rack up huge data charges on the account from all the e-mails if the phone is going to receive all the e-mails regardless of what SIM I put in there. What do you guys think? |

Hmm...I'll have to check it out when I go down to the US next time. (I don't want to rack up roaming charges on the company account right now) :D My preference is to not get data so if it's linked to PIN, it's not what I want. I could always have them disable data just to make sure. Also, in a situation like that, would I still be able to get emails via BES using WiFi? I see in the Services status that (when I'm in an area with Wifi) it's using Wifi for the BES. |
i would always thought it was always tied to the SIM? my logic is that if you are in canada and have a SIM tied to rogers with a BB data plan, then you can use it as long as you are in rogers network. however, if you are to change your SIM overseas, then your BB no longer has any data plan attached to it due to the overseas SIM tied to another carrier. |

If it's tied to SIM, then I should be fine, as the different SIM would mean I wouldn't get the messages from the BES. I really only wanted to use the BB so I would only have to lug one device around, and plus, the phone book feature. I could dial off my phone instead of bringing out the BB, then dialing from another phone altogether. However, I don't want the company to get a huge data bill because of this either if it's pulling data over the network on a SIM with a plan that charges exorbitant rates for data. |
hey guys, i've got a new problem with the bold. when ever i use the speakerphone to talk, and if i have my hands near the speakers, or touching the back of the phone..there would be a high screeching sound. I have .247 firmware. this started couple days ago. *edit* okay, i've found the source of the problem.. i recently switched to a full black housing and the problem didn't occur until a few days later. I've switched back to the original housing and the screech is gone. Why would the housing affect the screeching sound? By housing i mean just the black bezel. |

for some reason, if you enter the URL, it won't work. |

to remove the top mesh, slowly push from the outside bezel towards the edges where it is glued on. carefully use a pair of tweezers to pull it off and transfer it to the new bezel. to remove the bottom mesh, there is a black rubber stopper there, which can be easily removed. use a thumbtack or a needle to slowly scrape the edges off, and again remove it carefully with a pair of tweezer and transfer it over to the new bezel. replace the black rubber stopper on the new bezel. i heard these meshes are in place for acoustics. i've read that the top mesh doesn't make any difference while the one on the mic is the main culprit when you start hearing weird noises. |
^i'll take it apart again and try to do what you said. But from I remember I didn't see any meshes on the bezel. the meshes were covering the speakers and not part of the bezel. |
when i swapped my bezel, i found the mesh to be attached to the bezel itself, again one by the mute standby button and one at the mic covered by the rubber. another question for you BB users, some apps i downloaded required apn info before they start working. i was just wondering that if I were to fill those in, does the data used based on the apn info given fall under the BB data plan or are those external data used not covered by the BB data plan which i could be charged for. |
thanks, got it working! |
Sorry if this is such a noob question but are data plans given in contracts or can u add it and then have it removed the next month or so? =) |

^ i signed 3 yr contract with fido 1.5 yr ago i just add my data plan.. i can take it off whenever |
Hm, I wonder if it's the same with Rogers...I don't want to get stuck with a data contract lol |
^ if you got the bold form rogers, it will cost you $5/month remaining in your contract (maximum of $100) to cancel your data plan. thats if you signed a 3 yr contract for the phone |
