OK, you guys with awesome traction vehicles. Put that vehicle to good use.

Volunteer with "Meals on Wheels" or help handicapped people get around in the snow. Just saw the plea for help on Global News. I have nothing to do for the next little while, so might as well make a difference.

Anyone remember the one in 96?

That was a killer storm, I was driving up to 100 Mile House in my Jeep, just made it out through the valley before they shut down the #1. Slow trip, that was.

Drift_Monkey 12-23-2008 12:37 AM

Hi back from Grouse! Here's picture as promised:

First of all the parking lot, here to show you guys some VERY CREATIVE PARKING!
(The white incoming van that you see in this picture... the back of it said "CELICA"! IDK WTF?)
http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/5840/dscn0377rw0.jpg
Mind you the cars on the right side of the picture is not parking AGAINST the other side / curb. They are parked in the MIDDLE of the road, leaving just 1 car width on both sides so people can get in and out. If you notice the left side floor, all cars are supposed to park diagonally by the side, same for the other side. Now it's one straight roll of car - cars parked horizontally side by side - another straight roll of car... surprisingly it works....

I'm DEAD tired...

Took my friend's Mazdaspeed 6 up w/ 4 snow tires... I had to drive my Camry to his place tho. On the way back I was driving out and some guy parked in the middle of the street, no way to get around him. I could have drive out from another road but I asked if he needed help anyways.

The guy with a red Suzuki had a flat tire and he has no idea how to change it. So I changed it from him. Even MORE tired...

Gotta sleep now bye!

Seems like you had a lot of fun. BTW that van is probably a Mitsubishi Delica, right hand drive 4WD diesel thing from the land of JDM. I always thought that since its so tall, is it easier to tip over?

Oh god the roads were bad last night when I was going home from work. I'm quite surprised my old Highlander actually did ok.

This morning was not fun, I don't have proper boots so I'm bringing 2 pairs of shoes with me in my car in case my shoes get soaked. Side streets were horrible yet somehow the shitty AWD system I always complain about made it through everything.

All the side streets where no one shoveled makes for some interesting drives, especially those that a lot of people drive through, you see a lot of dimwits that don't know how to drive. Got trapped in some street because a woman decided to get stuck 10ft into the street in her Ford Windstar and a line of 4 cars were waiting for her to just back out so we can exit. Funny how the old guy in the Yaris in front of me got out of the car and started yelling at her to back out so he can get on his way.
Also got an MDX stuck in a side street when we both edged off to avoid each other, dunno how he didn't make it, I just drove on through.

I'm on all seasons, but its off-road tires, I think it made a bit of a difference. I don't think my old Camry would have made it.

Also quite surprised that the snow is melting this time, last week it stuck around on the main roads for awhile, kinda skipped the melting part and just evaporated off.

LiquidTurbo 12-23-2008 02:17 AM

Nice pix! How was the snow up at Grouse?
