my old man made me plow the roof of our house because hes scared its going to flood the house the next couple days. On the bright side made a $100 in doing so for risking my ass on a 2 story house

Psykopathik 12-25-2008 02:20 PM

it should be fucking illegal to go out without snow tires.

fuck all the "all season" idiots. its not all season, its three season!

It's best to just stay home with this much snow... I have snow tires and so does my neighbor, we both got stuck. Also pushed out an AWD Sienna with snow tires.

nismosx 12-25-2008 02:49 PM

im suprise my moms cavailer is able to drive in the snow
way better than suvs and mini vans

Gachinto 12-25-2008 03:05 PM

Another thing is people who shovel snow in their driveway and throw it out in the road! WTF!? That's fucking illegal too!

Haha.. speaking of that. There was some fat dude in a wife beater shoveling snow and tossing it on the road. I must've went over a good patch, of what he threw out, and gave him a good splash, too. He gave my car the stare-down as I saw him disappear in the rear-view.

lilaznviper 12-25-2008 03:23 PM

damn saw like 4 cars on the plowed streets with chains on wtf

some reason my neighbors were shoveling snow on the street lol and now there is a couple of parking spots hhaa

He deserves to be splashed. People are walking on the roads, and disregarding traffic lights when they cross, J-walking. Extremely dangerous and stupid in the snow. I get stared at too, I just wish there was some puddle or slush I can splash them with.

Also saw a lot of cars with chains on, I was like.... wow, never seen that before.

This is making me wonder, most of our snow usually comes around January, usually a week or two after school starts. If its this bad in December already, what would happen when it gets to be the coldest in January? That is truly going to be a gong show.

So far, I'm the only one in the house that's gotten through everything fine. Dad got stuck in his minivan 3 times, mom didn't even try taking the 4matic out, and my SUV off road tires seem to be doing ok.

Good thing is the area around my house (Burnaby) has trucks that come by and plow. My aunt lives by Windermere and the streets are a complete mess.

I hope the rest of you stay home so my boxing day shopping will go smoother than usual ;)

Good thing is that we're suppose to get 5-10cm of rain on Saturday

illicitstylz 12-25-2008 05:27 PM

lol at the fool's with chains on plowed roads, lol at the fucking idiots that shovel their driveway but toss it straight onto the road. You're going to have to drive onto that pile on the road afterwards when you're leaving your driveway too.

i started to enjoy the snow, i was in blaine washington today and there roads are pretty bad compared to here. Tried drifting in the snow and purposely whipping the e-brake during turns in a dead residential area, neighbours around there were probably like wtf? pretty fun hah

lots of cancelled flights today, still pretty crazy at the airport.

Ya, there was a ton of cancelled flights when I was leaving but my plane made it out after a 20 minute delay which was pretty damm good considering. I've been in San Diego and Anaheim since Monday.

Now getting home might be an issue, worst case scenario I'm going to get stuck in Vegas if I can't make my connection but there are worse places to be stuck. :) I'm hoping by Monday some of the snow will have left.

Adrenaline Rush 12-26-2008 08:39 AM

More snow today before it starts to melt tomorrow!

In East Van (Kensington Park) and it's small flakes but coming down moderately heavy

Skyliner 12-26-2008 10:05 AM

I love this snow... and I enjoy seeing my dumb ass neighbors getting stuck on my block (it's a side street btw) in their civics... I mean common, do you honestly think you stand a chance in a civic in this kind of weather???

KO7 12-26-2008 10:07 AM

How easy is it to attach and remove chains from your tires?

I would LOL at those driving with chains on paved roads too, but I realize they probably needed it to get out of small streets first.

Presto 12-26-2008 10:10 AM

Chains can be a bitch to attach. You'd probably have to use bare hands, unless you're really agile with gloves. What you can do is attach them at home, then get to the first gas station on main road to remove the chains. Unfortunately, you may need to strap them back on when you return home.
