I can see a Kesler Demitra Raymond line now. With the play of Demitra centering speedy guns like Hossa, one can only imagine the greatness this line would be due to the legs its got. Put up consistent numbers and hte canucks have two good lines rolling.

I can see this line being successful as long as they be a threat every time they hit the ice. It went un-noticed during the home stand, but the speed of kesler/raymond really caused some trouble for defenders simply due to the fact that the twins took the spotlight

As for the cup

Luongo himself has silenced the the people that are part of this boouongo wagon. Yes, he let up some pretty shitty goals, but he came up big when the team needed him to be big. He has joined the big ranks now with that Gold around his neck. I have always believed in bobby lu, and by associating himself with Canadian history, and especially the pressure of MUST WIN, he delivered. In ways team Canada has put 30million+ people on their backs, by being the starting goaltender in the final games of the tournament, proves to Canada and especially Vancouver that he is ready.

Ridiculous.

Kesler does that against opposing goalies day in and day out and we all love him for it. In the Canada/US game, Lu was the opposing goalie. Regardless of what team he plays for in the NHL, he's representing his country and Canada was the enemy. He played his heart out like he does every night.

Louie is probably just pissed during the game. If he held a grudge against Kesler for playing against him like he was serious opposition, then he'd be an idiot. If I was Luongo and Kesler DIDN'T play me as hard as he does everyone else, I'd be fucking insulted. The greatest complement you can pay an opposing player is to play against them like you goddamn mean it. It's a fucking GOLD MEDAL. He's probably as proud to be American as we are to be Canadian. Does that mean he hates the Canucks? No. That just means he takes pride in his job.

As Canuck fans, all we should see if that Kesler played with heart and brought his game to a new high. I would consider it pandering if he didn't give it his all out there. There's no honor in letting up just because he's Louie's teammate on a completely different team in a completely different league.

If you think differently, you don't understand sport.

let's go razer... !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Iginla, your job is done, now please go back to the no-scoring slump like you used to... lol

Don't worry, his linemates are no longer Staal and Crosby.. It just goes to show how shitty his teammates are lol

And this is true of any great goalie. Patrick Roy is infamous for some of his brain farts at crucial times. Marty Brodeur... well, his performance in the round robin is a classic example of an all-time great whiffing when it really matters. Name me one hall-of-fame goalie who hasn't had some world-class fuckups at the worst possible time.

There are still hordes of Luongo haters out there. He didn't make any "big" saves because he didn't have to; all we needed was some consistent goaltending and some luck. If Luongo wins Stanley, I can see him becoming the Chris Osgood of the future in the sense that no one will give him any respect despite his achievements.

Imagine a gold medal in vancouver followed by a stanley cup??

Could it happen? Sure, you get a hot goalie and anything can happen.
I sure hope so. The city needs another party to feel good about itself again after hosting the best event that this country has ever seen.

Apparently the Canucks are going hard for Dan Hamhuis.

I don't know if we'll get him, but this guy is s stud IMO. Another good BC Boy on the dline.

Philly is offering Parent for him as they want a young D man in return. I don't think we have any unless you count Rodin?

punkwax 03-02-2010 12:07 PM

Hamhuis would be a welcome addition. Work your magic Gillis!!

Greenstoner 03-02-2010 01:19 PM

Harvey Specter 03-02-2010 01:21 PM

Chris Chelios was rumored to be heading to the KHL, interesting to see him land back in the NHL. Hopefully he can tame his drinking problems.

What's up with all these minor trades?

I keep getting text alerts from TSN and they're all no-name players that I've never heard before getting traded lol

MG1 03-02-2010 03:17 PM

So nice to get back to normal..........

Sedin line looks OK.

Demitra looks like he's back to being himself. Come playoffs, things will change.
