the asking price for Hamhuis is too high, same with Ray Whitney

punkwax 03-03-2010 05:25 AM

I could see Grabner and Schneider on the block, not Hodgson or Schroeder.

We have to keep some prospects around for next season when Nash is on the UFA list. Do want.

How much do you guys think it'd cost us to get Hamhuis if we could?

My guess would be a prospect and probably two draft picks

Well Philly is offering Parente who is a great prospect winning 2 world jr championships. We have no Dman prospect that Nashville would want. A grabner maybe, but I don't know if they want a forward.

Hamhuis is a rental. He will be a UFA after this season and therefore we cannot and should not give up too much for him. I can see us doing a conditional pick of he signs but with that added, it would be kind of crazy.

In all honesty, I don't see us doing it unless we are unloading a crappy prospect + a second rounder. I don't see us trading the likes of Grabner, Hodgson or Schroeder. And the preds have no need for Schneider so I don't see it happening.

I see us making a push for him MAYBE in the offseason but not making a hard push right now.

The fact that he is from BC could be reason enough for him to want to sign here in the offseason.

It's being reported that Yan Statsny has been traded to Vancouver for Cedric Labrie.

Statsny was on re-entry waivers earlier this year
