Holy crap it was cold friday morning. Still rocking Dunlop Starspecs on my S and at 6:30 am, on my way to work, I was fishing the back end as soon as I gave a little bit of gas, even in third gear.

Based on everyone's comments and the reviews online, I think I will be ordering a set of General Altimax Arctic's for the CRV. $78 each. Can't go wrong.

hi-revs 11-05-2011 04:48 PM

probably wait till next weekend or the one after that.

Its not cold enough yet. Plus its not gonna be continually cold for a little longer.

We got people getting geared up for winter at my dealership. For me, it's like I've been put in prison administrative segregation with all the time I've spent in our tire room lately. I've been losing all track of time in there, I come out of the room thinking it's like 4:00, it's actually 5:30 and dark outside.

Runflat winter tires on a 2011 Sienna :seriously::heckno::seriously::heckno:

Might wait till late november. I don't start work till later during the day anyways when it's a bit warmer.

In the sun, during the day, then yes it's warm. But driving during a clear night right now? There's definitely ice on the ground.

Volvo-brickster 11-05-2011 10:20 PM

haven't taken off my winters in 2 years :p

I thought he meant it was cold when he was changing over the tires.

For those runninh spacers, do you take it out for winters? Would salt rust the spacers?

Ran mine for almost 2 years, zero problem. I do try to give the car a quick rinse when I have the chance though.

Just threw my winters on he otherday. Other tires are pretty much on the verge of baldness.

Acura604 11-07-2011 12:39 PM

QUESTION.. I have a set of dedicated winter tires on rims that i will put on shortly. BUT..i just ordered a new set of dedicated rims with summer tires that I will be getting most likely wed of this week/ nov 9th. I'd hate to pick them up and store them away for like 4 months...was thinking of slapping them on just to see how they look...the tires are brand new Dunlop SP Sport 01A obviously at 100% tread ...looks like weather is still on the above freezing mark but early mornings could be a problem? i'd just wanna slap them on for maybe a week so i can try them out. ... thoughts? worth the risk?

skylinergtr 11-07-2011 01:03 PM

still running a/s' for now.

gotta fix the running issue I have with my car first before i drop the coin on winters.

Energy 11-07-2011 02:39 PM

Will put my winters on probably this weekend.

hi-revs 11-07-2011 04:46 PM

how do snow/winter tires compare to All Seasons in the rain?

Do snow tires channel water as well as All seasons do?

RCubed 11-07-2011 05:31 PM

GodZilla 11-07-2011 05:35 PM

It smelt like snow when I went to let the dog in around 5pm.
Just wondering when you guys put your winter tires on do you notice that the tires are louder then the all seasons or is it just me?

Gh0stRider 11-07-2011 05:52 PM

i can't hear...exhaust too loud..lol
