bb + pb for work = increased productivity.made my life so much easier.. cant be happier with the product. + i upgraded to 2.0 beta so i have android apps :) poynt is awesome.

i use every office app everyday and bridge is awesome! one thing that i think they can improve is letting me move files from my bb to the pb and vice versa. rather than just being able to open the file. but its not much of a hangup.

apps i use

poynt
score mobile
ny times crossword
bb bridge ( all apps for work)
nobex radio
vevo
air browser
news360
facebook
weathereye

android player:
imdb
imo
mp3 music downloader
torrent-fu
astro

Buy them directly off RIM's website.

BlackBerry - PlayBook Where to Buy

Teh Doucher 11-23-2011 10:54 PM

^ i posted that on the other page already :p

RIM's site was working earlier. I think it's getting hammered.

LD stores are getting some stock. I was at the Delta location at around 9PM tonight and they had a couple of 16GB and 32GB units left.

You won't be missing anything really, only BlackBerry Bridge. But missed things can be substituted. Within bridge you will have email, contacts, calendar(all 3 which are in your gmail/hotmail website versions), memopad/tasks(there are apps for those), bridge browser(can be tethered and use wifi hotspot from your android/iPhone to use regular browser) and BBM. You will onyl be missing most of these features until OS 2.0 comes out in February 12'.

I think you really need to have a Blackberry to have the whole Playbook experience. Web mail does kind of suck (though the Gmail app is very good) and it's nice that your emails and contacts can remain in one place in the Blackberry ecosystem. Plus, people seem to have issues tethering and Bridge is virtually guaranteed to work out of the box. Another nice thing about Bridge is that you have access to the phone's memory so that you don't need to buy a 32 or 64 gig unit - you can just pop in an SD card into your BB and access files from the phone to play on the Playbook.

The Bold 9900 and the Playbook is the ultimate combo - HSPA+ speeds on the go!

Tried the Coquitlam and Ridge Staples, and they weren't taking anymore pre-orders.

Thx for the heads up that you can buy straight from RIM. Still would rather buy locally in case I get a lemon lol

^^yeah if u get a lemon just send it back to blackberry but yeah I see what your saying it would be easier just to pick one up at the store and if u had any problems just return it to the store..

You're right, you would need a BlackBerry to get the FULL experience. But with an Android/iPhone you would by no means be getting less features.

Ax2-Y 11-24-2011 12:19 PM

looked all over the northshore today for a 16gb.. only place to have ANYTHING is at London Drugs on Lonsdale.. and they only have the 64gb's left.

Loving it so far. Gestures make it oh so simple to navigate. Don't really use apps too much. Most apps can be replaced by a website.

The biggest thing is email. If you don't have a bb phone I can see it being irritating to log in/out of your email all the time. I really hope they can bridge whatsapp to the playbook. So annoying when I have to put playbook down when a message is sent to my phone.

6insomnia9 11-24-2011 03:03 PM

They will never bridge whatsapp to the playbook.

They hate 3rd party bbm wannabe, they sued the last guy who developed bbm and then left RIM to make his own app.

Damn the only thing i hate about the PB is the tiny ass power button. Does it take a few tries to turn it on for you guys?

6insomnia9 11-24-2011 03:13 PM

It is a bit annoying usually take me one or two pushes to get it turned on, fat fingers are fat.

Do you run it until the battery is dead? You can swipe up from the bottom to wake it up from sleep mode. I've only used the power button 2 times in 3 months of owning it. :fuckyea:
