shiiiet the playbooks are selling like hot cakes eh! i wonder how many they have sold since the sale? if RIM was smart the would leave the price as is i highly doubt anyone would buy them after they would go back to the normal price

Lowered_Klass 11-24-2011 08:04 PM

To hell with it. I don't have time to be driving around the lower mainland in the hopes someone still has stock.

Ordered from RIM. I'll take my chances.

Thanks to jeff19 for the promo code. I'm not complaining for an additional $10 off :)

haha adda boy now hopefully u get a pb with a raised power button i would hope so since u are ordering directly from rim

winson604 11-24-2011 08:14 PM

As another user pointed out as well the only time you need to use the power button is when you turn it on. Any other time you can just swipe the screen. Still that 1 time could drive you crazy I guess.

Vansterdam 11-24-2011 08:34 PM

:werd: :fuuuuu:

fuck it im just gonna keep it lol too much hassle returning

that swipe screen function is preety useful, you gotta swipe it preety hard to turn it on but better then hitting the power button

Nabatron 11-24-2011 08:40 PM

bridge browser uses your phones 3g or wifi
regular browser only uses wifi

try swiping from bezel to bezel (left to right or top to bottom).. as for myself, i don't have to swipe it hard at all

using the bridge browser will use your blackberry's data connection and also it lowers the image quality to speed up the loading

RRxtar 11-24-2011 09:08 PM

you guys dont know how to use the power button. i bitched about mine at first too until i googled. the only time you need to use the power button is if you actually use the power button to turn it off. any other time you can just swipe top to bottom (black to black) and it will power up/leave standby.

and that being said, my button is sunken, but i can still push it with my finger flat on the top where most of my finger is around the button and not on it. it doesnt need to push down and click or anything, just needs abit of pressure.

the .avi files i loaded into my playbook have video but no sound? is there a setting or different video player i should download?

StylinRed 11-25-2011 05:36 AM

quick google says that VLC was supposed to be available for the playbook (there's QNX support from VLC) not sure if it finally has been or not

isn't it on android? cant u just install it through that or something

the playbook i got is meant as a gift so i cant check :/

Vansterdam 11-25-2011 06:00 AM

i tried 4-5 different video files and still no sound.

the same videos work perfectly fine on my touchpad no converting or anything needed.

im thinking i need a new media player

Your videos likely have Dolby codecs and right now, the Playbook doesn't support Dolby. Unfortunately, we can only play straight stereo.

Yes, this is one big drawback.

^^^shiiieet really eh! i think i recall something awhile back that RIM and dolby were beefing or something like that maybe thats the reason why its not supported on the playbook which i think is pretty dumb!

StylinRed 11-25-2011 12:46 PM

huh... even my N8 has dolby digital Plus<<yes Plus support :D

Amuse 11-25-2011 01:47 PM

Anybody else have reconnecting problems on BB Bridge?
It worked when I initially paired my playbook with my blackberry over BT.
But when I turn off BT on the Bold, and try to reconnect again for Bridge, the bluetooth pairing doesn't work.

Vansterdam 11-25-2011 02:27 PM

did u try turning ur BT back on for both devices before trying to bridge?

terkan 11-25-2011 03:04 PM

:D scored a 16gb for 199.99 + 10% employee discount off my friend
