^ You can use iPhone's wifi-hotspot to get internet access. If you upgrade to OS 2.0 you can get SOME android apps that have been ported over on it. Don't think PPS TV is among that list. If they do port their app over to BlackBerry in February, you'll be able to find it in App World. |

I'm loving mine. First tablet ever. Also gave the extra to gf. It does have flaws :okay: but cant beat the price. I was waiting around for something to read book on. The kindle was too expensive and everybody on craigslist was being retards selling them for more than they're worth. Hopefully OS2.0 would be something to be excited about.:fullofwin: |

Not that it really matters, as it's a Xmas gift, but still... |

This is the sticker on the side of the box. I don't know for sure if these numbers (below "Accessories Made in China") indicate manufacture date but through all 6 of my exchanges, the only units that had the updated raised power button were ones where it showed 02052011. All the other ones I've come across had the recessed power button and had xx022011, xx032011 or xx042011 on the box. |

i heard it was raised like .8mm which is like wat? a small growing finger nail? |
^ Size matters even if it's only .8mm :troll: |
its was raised high enough so u don't have to use yur finger nail to push the power button down! just your finger would do! |

IMO, in the next year , it is going to very interesting to see how RIM is going to bounce back with next flagship devices , 4g playbook and their new BBX smartphone. If they do not bounce back , they will most likely either bankrupt or be bought out at Q4 of 2012. I hope RIM you do good and do not fuck it up. |
friend got one, pretty sick slow wifi tho |

RIM lost money selling these playbooks at like 200 , heard it cost 300 yto make. Posted via RS Mobile |
hmph... I still have to use my finger nail... Posted via RS Mobile |
lol if you go back a few pages youll see a ton of people having the same problem with the power button. not sure if you know this but you should only press the power button to put it on standby or to fully shut it off. you can swipe with your finger from bottom to top to turn it back on from standby mode. you can also press the battery icon on the screen which will popup the function for standby/restart/shutdown the power button is a PITA but this should help a bit. |
seriously. everyone go get your playbook. with your finger flat on the top push on the power button. hold for 1 second. it takes a little bit of force but nothing major. you do not need to dig your finger nail. the button doesnt actually move or click, it just needs a bit of pressure. they made it hard to press to avoid people accidentally turning their pb off while fumbling around trying to push the volume buttons in the 2 weeks ive owned my playbook ive had to use the power button exactly 0 times. |

The playbook that I got had a raised power button, too had I returned it to Bell because of one dead pixel. Posted via RS Mobile |
^^fuck shitty deal bra yeah i gotta return mine to get underneath my screen cleaned due to dirt and i have a raised power button pretty choked and when i receive my new playbook most likely will be a hard to press power button if I'm not lucky that is |
playing around with my gf playbook right now. after i got over the initial thriill of playing with a new os i find this to be disappointing the screen is awesome but the lack of many useful native apps is a turn off.... i also find the browser scrolling to be a but weird. i always manage to accidentally click a link or an image while scrolling down or for it to just behave really weird on certain websites. the keyboard is great though, very responsive and i like how you can use ctrl c v b etc command with a bluetooth keyboard. the only thing im jelly about since my touchpad cant do this.... im trying to get andorid apk running on this thing but so far its been a headache since i use mac and its a really old mac that doednt ran vmware that well... i still think my 32gb touhpad even at 250 is a better deal. EDIT: scratch that once i have access to a windows computer transfering bat files to the playbook is relatively painless however turning the apk into bat is still a pita. all that effort is waste when i found out out of the 3 apps installed (ezpdf, mobo play and android task killer) only the task killer work 100%. =\ also is there any file manager for this thing? |
