Hey nikko did u orders urs on the rim website ? Posted via RS Mobile |
No i ordered from walmart.ca last monday. Another 1 is from bell.ca also last monday that is coming in on wednesday. I guess if you're ordering from RIM website, it'll take around 4-5 business day before you have a shipping confirmation because that's how long it took on my Bell order. Both was shipped from Mississauga, ON. |
^^thats shitty deal for u bra! yeah I pre-ordered mine through staples last week got mine played with it for abit took it to work cleaned it with a cloth then noticed I had shit underneath my screen like lint/dust...so I called blackberry playbook support line or whatever that shit is and told him my situation of dirt stuck underneath my playbook. He told me I had to take it back to staples so I was like ok....called staples just now they told me they were out of stock and all I could do was return it and get my money back wtf is this... |
does anyone know the number to the playbook support line? I need to call them and I dont have then number here at work! |
nevermind found it! haha |
So it wasnt lemon after all. The battery was just totally dead so I looked up some info on crackberry and did major life support to revive the battery. It's charging now. :fullofwin: Debrick: Quote:

so just got off the phone with a RIM rep and holy fuck he could barely speak english. It was pretty tuff but he did give me some good information in that once I have my serial number of my playbook, he gave me the option of him sending me another playbook or sending my current one out to get the shit underneath my screen cleaned. Not bad at all decent support line I would have to say! |
Apparently RIM employees can buy PBs for $99 atm. Posted via RS Mobile |

Anyone still looking for a 16gb Playbook? I ordered from a few different stores fearing that I wouldn't get one. I have an extra one from Walmart that just came in today. I thought I'd offer it up to someone on here before considering returning it to the store. PM me if you're interested. |

I also recieved this email this am. Only difference is that my status isn't "inventory hold", it's just "Recieved". For whatever reason, this email was in my junk email folder, which is odd, because the other emails from them have gone straight to my inbox. Glad I looked! So if I figure right, with them needing 5-6 more days to ship the item, then another approx 5 days of possible shipping days... that means at least a couple weeks of waiting still. :( Hopefully it gets here sooner. *EDIT* - Looks like you can order off of Staples.ca again, back in stock. Sigh. 2 days compared to 2 weeks :( |
I don't know about you guys but I'm finding the Playbook more of a hassle then anything. Mind you my opinion of this is based on a few hours of trying to get the thing to work. Right off the get go I'm having issues. -Wifi is inconsistent in my apartment. My Wifi works fine for everything else. Even HP Touchpad. -Blackberry Bridge is retarded. Once I turn off the Bridge I can't get it working again without removing the profile from the phone AND the Playbook. Do I really have to do this EVERYTIME? :swear: -The fucking desktop manager won't detect the bloody PB. Detects my torch, bold and curve. Updated to the newest software and nothing. (After 30 mins of researching I found out I had to turn OFF the wifi before connecting it to the PC in order to be detected) -The apps just suck. Same apps as the phones but I figured they would have at least Skype or something similar like the TP. I didn't look into it alot, but it says video chat only works playbook to playbook. Dumb. -The power button at the top does not work worth shit. It's so fucking small my fingers cannot even push it down. I'm not a 400lb American. For $199 it's a deal I guess, but considering how horrible it works in comparision to the HP Touchpad I think this is a piece of shit. Not wonder they're blowing these out. If I paid $499 for this I would return it ASAP and buy an Ipad. Better yet torch it so no one else has to share my frustration. /rant |
My wifi would drop and reconnect itself. Same shit happens on my 9900 too, i have no idea what causes it. I dont have problems with the bridge. I tap disconnect on the playbook bridge icon to disconnect. When I want to reconnect, I just tap in one of the bridge app on the playbook (mail, calendar, bbm, etc.) and it reconnect itself. Also you dont need to turn it off. In fact you shouldnt turn it off because it wont charged if its turned off. Just switch to standby when you dont use it and swipe the screen when you're ready to use it again. |

But i already returned mine. After using it for a few days, it just wasnt worth my $200. i'd rather spend more on a full fledged tablet and be much more satisfied with it |

You can use Skype/MSN/AIM & other IM clients on your PlayBook through www.imo.im. Although the video quality is kinda of bad, but still. LimeTrip: How to use Skype video chat From Blackberry Playbook Tablet for free |
You definitely DO NOT have to delete the profiles on your phone/pb between every bridge connection. Something isn't configured properly, are you sure bluetooth is enabled for both devices? |
There is a whole thread about the lastest OS update about how the Wifi is acting up on Crackberry forum. |
^ Wifi issues with 1.0.8 - CrackBerry.com Apparently this is the fix. Quote:

has been 100% since |
and in all honesty, february will be the tell whether the PB is worth its weight or not. you could almost say its currently in beta and os2 is when its full software will be available |

a) downgrade entire home network security or b) limit entire home network performance I don't think that can be considered a 'fix'. It's a detrimental workaround at best. I wouldn't buy a device for a new OS that it's supposed to get. Not for $200 at least. Maybe for $99. |
