Does anybody else notice spots randomly appearing on the macbook screen?
I usually just leave my macbook on my computer desk with the screen open and there's always random specs of dust that appear randomly. I try to wipe them off with cleaner and a cloth, but it looks like they're under the screen.
I'm guessing it from me leaving the screen open all the time but I could be wrong.
Thanks

Hey guys,
Thinking of picking up an MBA 2012, but I'd hate to do so if a refresh is around the corner. Anyone hear anything? I only suspect a MBP 13" refresh.
A mid 2013 MBA refresh wouldn't bug me so much, but a late 2012 with say, a matte ips screen would just be the kick in the pants I wouldn't need if i bought a mid 2012.
Cheers!

The latest MBA is from June this year.
At the very most, we would probably see a refresh in the Spring. So, I think it's good to go.

Yah it's a good product cycle, if it just a yearly refresh.
Problem is their competitors are bringing out the better screens, and after seeing the new ips zenbook, I am really on the fence!

I just picked up a Zenbook and am very happy with it. Love the 1080p screen and SSD.

Anyone know where I can get a 15' speck case locally? Broke mine and the bottom of my macbook already got scratched
As for bags if you want a messenger style bag aldo has a nice leather one for around ~$50 that fits the macbook and its charger nicely (15"). It's decent quality, definitely looks a lot nicer than what you pay. I got the Daniel MM messenger bag as well and its a really tight squeeze but will fit without a case in there.

I used a Marware case for my MBP. Really liked it and never had a problem with the build quality.

Recalibrated battery after it said Service Now, it went away
two weeks later, Battery is completely dead.
after 327cycles
the mac is 19months old
doubtful, but will probably have to buy a new battery. EVEN THOUGH apple claims the battery cna go for 999 cycles before replacement

I would go to the store and ask them to look at it. I got my battery replaced three times before I bought a new laptop this year.
I don't like using cases on my laptops...prefer to keep it as thin as possible. I use a skin from Wrapsol to prevent scratching. Invisibleskin has that horrible sticky feeling. Wrapsol is basically the same thing but matte surface.

I have it on all my Mac's. Bought a 5 system family license around two years ago. It's a steal considering the daily use. iStat Menus, a Mac app by Bjango |

2 months + 1 month from previous owner = 25 cycles.
Fuck yeah! Considering first week I got it.. tacked on 6 cycles, haha.

Well, when I'm at home I always have it plugged unless I'm away from my desk. If I'm browsing the web on the couch or in my bed, it's on battery.
I'm not too worried about the battery cycles with my MBA.. I think it's 1000 cycles until the battery is declared dead. I doubt I'll even hit 200 by next year, and by then I'll probably update to the newer model.

How do you guys check how many charge cycles? Mines a late 2011 but battery lasts 4ish hours only..
@tosd it's best to start charging when you're at 10-20%
Worst is when you use it while charging it. Posted via RS Mobile |
