Yeah, I'd agree but I would make sure you ask the bank teller if they can offer you a better rate to keep you from taking the money over to VBCE. Maybe they can close the gap to $75 which might be enough to keep you there. With the TD reps I dealt with they just punched in numbers to see what the system would allow (and I showed them the WISE rate) and they were able to hit a number I was happy with.

I went into RBC and asked for a USD draft payable to VBCE.

They said they don't issue USD drafts anymore.

So then I asked how do I get my money. She said they can order USD cash for me, it takes 3 business days.

So then I just asked if she could match VBCE's rate. She checked the computer for the "best rate" she can offer and it was better than VBCE.

Worked out great. Made a few extra dollars and didn't have to deal with the hassle of going to VBCE.

Side note, i'm starting to hate RBC more and more.

Canada's biggest bank.

Makes millions and millions in profits.

Sorry, no more USD drafts.

(Even though the US is our closest neighbour and Canadians do a lot of transactions in USD, and every other bank in Canada still does USD drafts, as far as I know).

Can anyone with a costco membership please get a online quote for a set of 4 tires (michelin defender 2, 205/60/r16) and send me a screenshot of the cost breakdown? I'm not a mem so I can't get access to the price.

I was looking at another car forum, someone with same car and tire size as me said he got $900 cad all in for these defender 2s at costco. Kaltire, CT, and dealerships all quoted me $1200 - 1300 which is quite a significant difference, so wanted to find out if it's true.

Thanks in advance!

I'm located in BC.

Thanks so much, Costco doesn't charge tire installation/balance?

6793026 06-18-2025 12:45 AM

nope it's included. i just got 4 tires and installing and all are included.

other dealers might not match costco cause it's "members" and not advertisered... but best of luck!

68style 06-18-2025 04:49 AM

Doesn’t Costco usually also get special versions of tires that the model # is like 1 number or letter off so they can say it’s not technically the same tire? Best Buy does this a lot with TV’s too.

Correct

For the Private Banking crowd there's a new startup offering subscription access to luxury cars: https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/vanc...uxury-car-club

Quote:

The Vancouver Luxury Car Club, or VLCC, is launching with a curated collection of 70 supercars, featuring cars from renowned brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Aston Martin, all available to members. Fifteen brands are included at launch.

“Our members don’t want to be tied down to one car, one brand, or one depreciating liability. They want variety, flexibility, and something that fits their lifestyle – whether that’s a Ferrari on a Friday night or a Range Rover on a rainy Monday,” said Mark Cheng, the founder and CEO of VLCC.

...

There are two membership types: personal and corporate. A personal membership will cost members a $60,000 initiation fee and a monthly fee of $5,500.

The corporate membership costs $75,000 for the initiation fee, plus an additional $15,000 per extra driver (up to four drivers). The monthly cost is $6,000, with an additional $500 for each driver. Memberships offer members access for 365 days.
RS group buy?

Badhobz 06-18-2025 08:10 AM

it sounds like its going to be stock full of lousy beetles and some base model ferrari's. Yah no thanks. The beetle rental program through porsche is already a smoking deal and you dont need to drop 60k upfront.

bcrdukes 06-18-2025 08:27 AM

Ditto. The Porsche program is good value in comparison to what's in the market.

For the F1 movie, what do you think is going to be the better experience?

IMAX, Dbox or 4dx?

sonick 06-18-2025 10:24 AM

I reserved the full IMAX at Langley for opening weekend :fuckyea:

supafamous 06-18-2025 10:34 AM

I think I'll go with Coquitlam IMAX - not the biggest screen but the best projector (4K laser) available.

Gumby 06-18-2025 11:03 AM

+1 for IMAX

DBOX gets annoying after the first few minutes.

Badhobz 06-18-2025 11:25 AM

what f1 movie? they renaminig fast and furious f1 instead of f9 ?

mikemhg 06-18-2025 12:04 PM

It's like buying timeshares. If I want to drive Ferraris, I'd have just gotten one.

If you have iPhone, the trailer is pretty dope. IMO, better than Dbox. :fuckthatshit:
