This is not the first one. There was one many years ago that went belly up. They had a Spyker c8. Vancouver Car Club - Fractional Exotic Car Ownership - Exotic Car Rental & Fractional Ownership

For the F1 movie, what do you think is going to be the better experience?

IMAX, Dbox or 4dx?

Watched the premiere yesterday in Imax and really enjoyed it. Is it 100% necessary? No, but the larger screen certainly helped.

Theres quite a bit of action, not sure if I'd want to be in a dbox seat as itd be rumbling almost for 2 hours straight

Have any of you programmed your car's homelink to a gate like in the video? My motor looks identical to the one in the video, I've tried parking my car as close as possible to the motor, but I can't get it to learn properly.

I dealt with something similar on a different brand's swing-out gate for a friend. We discovered that the previous owner had rigged a Liftmaster universal receiver to their gate motor, so we programmed HomeLink to the Liftmaster instead. Not sure what's involved with wiring, but maybe an avenue to pursue if you don't find direct alternatives.

If you choose to go with the universal receiver method (which seems to be common from some quick Google-Fu), you'll also need to program a remote to the receiver first before Homelink programming works.

Guessing this is your gate's user manual:

LOL, neighbours asked why my gate opens so fast.

Yea, its powered my a one manpower motor.

those motors are crazy expensive.

The user manual isn't identical, but the instructions are the same as mine with the RF button and the "cs" on the display.

I tried this way too, but the car does rapidly flash.

You might have a rolling code, which means when you see the mirror blinking fast, you have to hit the learn button on your gate, then go back to your car and hold the programmed button for 2 seconds a few times.

SSM_DC5 06-19-2025 12:39 PM

The car never seems to flash fast no matter how long I hold it for. It just keeps doing a slow flash

Do you have access to a regular garage door you can try pairing it to so you can check the homelink is working and that you're pairing it correctly?

I installed this to my gate.

https://www.remootio.com/?srsltid=Af...QMgGjqU4Zcsw5f

Works awesome and other than occasional freeze up, which I completely solve it by powercycling it every few month or so when I remember it, it has been problem free.

Installation was relatively simple and even for someone like me who has no idea about how the system or wiring works, I had no problem with it. And just use my phone for opening the gate. I've even added into my Siri's voice command where it open/closes when I say "Hey Siri, do the gate". And also programmed it to auto-open and close at certain time of the date according to our schedule. I can also remote control it while being on the other side of the planet.

It works so well that I don't even know where my gate remote is at anymore.

My goodness, you ask here, people are going to suggest $5k-10K 'beginner' camera kit.

Canon R50 is a good place to start:
https://www.henrys.com/canon-eos-r50...n+RF&style=New

Badhobz 06-20-2025 01:34 PM

i got a R50 and im going to probably keep it until the new R7 mkII comes around December. Love the performance on the little R50. Love the size too.

Negs
1) not weather sealed. if youre going to shoot in the rain or humdity, becareful
2) no IBIS (in-body stabilization) so if youre low light you need a fast lens or really steady hands
3) Ergonomics is bad if you have big hands. You'll be smashing all kinds of buttons unintentionally

The R7 will address all 3 of these things for me. Otherwise, it's a terrific shooter. Just look at my photography thread if you want sample photos.

OH and if you buy the R7 skip the kit lens. That 18-45 is kinda lame. Mines just sitting in a box not doing squat. AInt worth shit selling it either. Only good thing is that lens is image stablized so its OKAY for videos but not great.

Pretty interesting interaction with a client just now.

Mom and her kids came in and one of her girls brought her boyfriend with her (16 yrs old) and the mom was talking about how this new generation doesn't greet their elders at all.

So I asked what does the boyfriend say to you when he see's you? She said he just says, "Hi"

She's Chinese, boyfriend is Chinese, but apparently saying, "Hello Aunty" or "Hello Mrs. Wong" just isn't a thing for this generation.

The mom said it's a little weird, but she doesn't think it's a huge deal, but her husband hates it. I guess kids these days are brought up a different way.

I have two young boys and they have always been taught to say hello aunty or hello uncle. Kind of weird this generation doesn't do that.

^ Makes it easier to not fuck up someone's pronouns and offend them hahaha

CivicBlues 06-20-2025 04:19 PM

I think that's kinda weird tbh, good on the GenZs for killing it. it's one thing calling your parent's friends auntie and uncle as a kid. But some teenage dirtbag saying "Hello Auntie, i'm going to go upstairs now and plow your daughter" doesn't sit right.
