I checked with Edmonds community centre gym and they didn't have this in effect.

It sucks. Leg day last week had me sweating like I had Ebola.

SkinnyPupp 11-24-2020 04:02 PM

I was planning on joining the gym again this week, but we're having a 4th wave and I expect gyms to shut down later this week. Bars were already shut down yesterday, and restaurants limited back again.

Now that the weather is cooler and we shouldn't get any rain again for the next 4-5 months, I guess I really have no excuse not to do a proper band workout routine on my rooftop.

I really REALLY prefer lifting heavy shit over rubber bands, but... 2020 right?

God dammit I got so fat LUL

It’s not terrible, but I noticed my recovery between sets was a lot longer. Deadlifts yesterday, probably took twice the rest between as usual.

@skinny no way I’d ever join a normal gym again. I’m in a small place, and when I go there’s maybe 1 other person. Yesterday there was a couple but all wearing masks

sonick 11-27-2020 07:51 AM

I ordered this stowable bench from Amazon at the $152 black friday price yesterday but decided to go with a different bench instead:

It's currently OOS, but for anybody in who is interested in buying this off me at cost, DM me before 12pm PT today otherwise I will be cancelling/returning.

Haven't gone back to the public gym since the second lockdown, decided to commit to building out a mini gym in my condo that I had been thinking about even before the pandemic.

Finally got the gear I wanted in stock, quite happy with how it turned out, looking forward to getting my first sweat in there:

I'd fuck with that setup

Managed to hit 205 bench / 315 squat / 435 deadlift @ 165lbs

Goals for this year is to hit 275/405/545 between 160-170lbs bodyweight

Main priority now is to find a good balance between intensity, frequency, and overall weekly volume as not to shitter my body so I can train consistently with minimal downtime

Kind of went too hard in November and December and jacked up my legs lol, but slowly bouncing back

instantneedles 01-18-2021 10:50 AM

I have a similar goal of hitting 275 bench, 350 squat, 405 deadlift. Once I hit those and have a base level of strength, I'm gonna go on a hypertrophy routine to get shredded as hell for the summer. It's been awhile since I've had a 6pack.

where to buy?

Excelsis 02-22-2021 04:22 PM

i got it from supps central, you can find a 15% code somewhere online.

Took 1g out of the 6g recommended scoop.. can confirm it's like craze prolly even stronger

instantneedles 03-28-2021 01:18 PM

Been taking a vegan protein supplement I bought from the supermarket. I'm noticing improved muscle recovery without the stomach discomfort I get from whey protein.

For those of you who drink smoothies, can you recommend me an affordable and durable blender?

I like smaller blenders because they are easy to clean. Something like magic bullet, which I am considering, but I want to hear your suggestions first.

https://www.thebay.com/product/ninja...B&gclsrc=aw.ds

I use this and it's great.

SkinnyPupp 05-03-2021 05:31 PM

Magic Bullet is powerful, but only has one speed and that's FULL BLAST. So if the blades catch on something (like ice or you didn't add enough liquid) the motor will seize up. Be VERY careful that you have a good seal (the rubber feet just sit there loosely so it's very easy to not get a seal).

It's actually kind of scary to use; you can feel the torque as you turn it on, you can smell a burnt electricity smell, and you can't run it more than 15 seconds or it'll overheat, which can lead to explosions (there's a class action lawsuit about this)

If you don't use it perfectly, you can do some serious damage.

DO NOT RECOMMEND.

mikemhg 05-04-2021 08:39 AM

^That person is a moron.

Looks like they were trying to make squash or carrot soup and they didn't allow their mixture to cool before blending.

Heat + Blender = Explosion.

Maybe but if you read the link about the lawsuit, this is happening to people even without trying to mix hot stuff

Obviously this isn't going to happen to everyone lol.. But I think the blender is poorly designed and quite shitty.

Downside to the ninja is...it's LOUD

instantneedles 05-05-2021 04:07 PM

Thanks for the input guys. Looks like I'll be getting the ninja then.

Fingers crossed this one's good because this will be my 5th blender now.

I've almost gone through as many blenders as I have cellphones lool.

I can't tell from the picture but how wide are those dumbbells?

I'm looking to get a set of adjustables for home. The Bowflex 1090s are pretty bulky and I'm not sure about the build quality. I was leaning towards Powerblocks despite their odd appearance.

Anyone have experience with either?

These are a bit narrower than the bowflex 552 which are known to be quite wide already. Don't have measurements on hand.
