I'm trying to bulk while intermittent fasting too right now. Building muscle while losing fat might be a bit optimistic, but keeping the fat gain to a minimum is definitely feasible. Just make sure you don't try gain too much too fast. I'm aiming for 4-500 calories above maintenance requirements a day.

As for my experience so far, everything's great. I feel more "fresh" when I work out fasted and have no shortage of energy. The only challenge is trying to cram the majority of my calories into the first two meals after breaking the fast can be tough. My stomach feels like it's shrunk after not eating for 16hrs. Oh well, that's a challenge I will gladly accept (I love to eat until I'm stuffed).

Gym is closed today.

Had my first shitty workout in a very long time yesterday. Not too sure if it was the amount of dim sum I ate an hour or so beforehand or because I didn't have my pwo protein shake. Or maybe both? No energy, couldn't finish some sets I could normally do. I was pretty frustrated.

Hoping to get back on that pumped train tomorrow though!

everyone has those days man ... there's days where I feel like im the biggest guy in the gym ... after I'm done strip down and walk out wearing nothing but my zip up and shorts, feeling huge. Other days I feel like a fat slob.

.. drank for the first time in over a year the other night .. felt bad morning after :okay: Thinking of doing IF as well .. its too much of a pain in the ass to eat 4-5 healthy meals. Skinny, did you take ECA when you first started IF? I'm thinking of doing it just to suppress appetite. Only problem is I go to gym at night time usually so dunno how to time my big meal

No I don't take ECA, I hate how it makes me feel. If you need a suppressant though, it can work. Other appetite suppressants may help also.

As for melatonin, it is effective in making your sleep more restful. So in other words if you 'need' 8 hours of sleep to feel fully refreshed, melatonin allows you to get away with 7 hours.

I tried ZMA again last night, and sure enough I was up by 9:30. That doesn't sound late, but I go to bed at 3:30 so it kind of sucks.

Traps are more sore than they have been in a long time though :megusta:

It'll suck for the first few days because you'll be hungry, but then your body will get use to it.

Amusing to see everyone jump on the IF bandwagon now. Congrats though - it's awesome eating 3000 calories in a meal.

tried to kill myself with booze this weekend. got some serious cardio at avicii tho.

wheels sorta came off the diet this weekend. buddy in from out of town then partied in penticton. gotta get back on that again tomorrow.


man what a weekend tho.

Did some research into IF, and found it pretty interesting. Was gonna say that I was gonna give it a try, but realized that I was already following the pattern all along LOL. The difference now is that Ill feel much less guilty for skipping out breakfast, as Ive always been hatin on myself for doing so..

But thing is, how do I work in IF into my bulking goals?
