There are 4 or 5 smith machines at my gym (only 1 squat rack) and they are always the busiest machines. Everyone does bench press and squats in them. So I don't know if I'll ever get the chance to try rows.

I start doing BB rows next week anyway, so maybe I'll give it a shot since everyone says it's the cat's meow.

BOO YAA. Hit PR of deadlifting 185x2 this morning. Isn't that much, but my goal is 2plates by the end of the year.

Got praised for my ATG squats at 175, feels good.

7AM workouts are the best. :D, feel rejuvenated the entire day

ahhh i love deadlifting

Wish I was at the gym today. 3 days a week isn't enough! But by the end of the week, I feel exhausted so I def need the 2 days back to back.

Going to take my 3rd week progress pic. I definitely notice clothes fitting better, so I think I have lost more this week than the first two. So stoked to get rid of this shit so I can get back to training for strength :fuckyea:

started stronglifts 4 weeks ago making pretty good gains but the back of my knee/hamstring always feel like it has a bruise on it from squatting a2g but theres nothing there, also some days i struggle with a weight and the next workout i add 5lbs and its easier than the previous workout

is this maybe due to not stretching/warming up? or just squatting 3x/week

^ Shit like that always happens. Maybe one day you are carb-deprived, not getting enough rest or just not feeling it while another day you could be pumped as fuck. I usually hit the gym when I feel ready and motivated, not when I'm just forcing myself to.

TouringTeg 10-08-2011 12:50 PM

I find my legs are always sore thanks to squatting 3x a week. You may want to try going parallel instead of a2g. I warm up by squatting the bar and then 135x5.

@halogod/strykn

Creatine with your morning tea/coffee:

I'm loading creatine (I haven't started taking it yet) and I want to load it properly. Can I just take 20g in the morning for 5 days, then keep going steady at 5grams? Will that be okay for loading phase?

Also, does creatine ever expire? I got an older bottle + a newer one. Both are same type of creatine.

Excelsis 10-08-2011 07:39 PM

I take ~40g in the morning and I'm good :fuckthatshit:

Time to join a gym now, my threaded weight set is becoming too easy

Anyone here know any good gyms in Richmond?

Better head to the gym now, before it turns into a fucking Sunday afternoon circus

Heavy day today, might replace OH squats with deadlifts and see how many "plates" I can lift up :)

so i have a question...how do i know if the burn i feel in my lower back after doing deadliest is the proper soreness or a pain from doing something wrong which will lead me to screwing up my back etc.
because when you squat, bench, you know what sore feeling right away. but i can't tell so much for my back

chin3se604 10-08-2011 11:20 PM

soreness is not pain ... so if its pain, then your doing something wrong

I was injured from doing squats before. The pain reduced the range of motion in my lower back. It hurt when I stretched horizantally to the side which previously was not a problem.

I went to see the doctor and she said I sprained the soft tissue in my lower back. She prescribed me anti inflammatory pills which is suppose to expedite my recovery. I never got them. In 2 weeks I was back to 100%, during which time I was still going to the gym and working around the injury.

DOMS shouldn't affect your flexibility. Injuries might. Try using a foam roller to massage your lower back. It helps for me. Above all definately make sure your squat/deadlift technique is correct.
