Its an option in case someone stole your phone and made international phone calls on your bill |
ill try that thanks i emailed wind and tweeted em but i doubt that'll help |
Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus S will not turn on I've been using the Nexus S since Jan 2012 with great care never dropped it and always charging the phone when needed. Just yesterday it died and won't turn back on. I tried everything. Recharging, taking battery out and still won't work Any other Nexus S owner experience the same thing? If so how'd you fix it? |
I'm considering switching over from Rogers to Windmobile. My phone is currently locked to Rogers, but would I still be able to use my phone with Wind if I were to unlock it? |
Yes and no. It would work but it would be roaming on the Rogers network all the time so every call and data you use will cost money. So you going to have to buy a new Wind phone if you don't want to roam. |

My phone simply can't turn on no matter how yo slice it and dice it. Ended up bring it to the Wind Mobile Store on Thurlow. They offer the following service plan if your phone is under the 1 year warrenty $10 for a loaner phone $80 refundable deposit to send it off to their service center and they'll try to access and fit it. If it's a mft defect they'll cover it and return the deposit. If they find you at fault, liquid or physical damage they'll charge against your deposit. Process takes 2 weeks. |

MTV Cribs...seriously, stop spreading false information. It isn't the first time, and some poor fellow is going to screwed over thanks to your misinformation. Also, what kind of username is that.. |
It's not false information, it's fact. Do a search at hofo or even the windmobile forum and you will find info about unlocked phones from the Big 3 and using it on Wind. A quick search of hofo I found this thread.Question - Will My Unlocked Rogers Blackberry Bold 2 9700 Work on WIND? Quotes from that thread for the lazy Quote:

If some clueless person goes out and buys the wrong phone it will have been a waste of time and money. This is why you can't just outright say the phone will work without even knowing any details. |

Wind Home zones function with AWS, which means that if you do not have a phone that has AWS (or switch to 2G), you will not be able to ever go on a wind "home" zone. Hence you will not be able to "Use wind" (your plan only covers wind home zones, and therefore you will be spending a lot of extra money to use the unlimited plan you've already paid for). Wind Away zones function as the companies they are leased from--RoBelLus. They will use GSM or UMTS. These will be accessible from any RoBelLus phone, but as above, you will have to pay for every minute called and every text. While an unlocked phone from another provider (not counting mobilicity) will technically be able to use Wind...the reality is that in a practical sense, it really really really will not. Cribs, while your point is correct in terms of "will it work in an absolute sense", the away-zone charges for someone using a non-WindIlicity phone make the costs absolutely ridiculous. The reason people are not saying "yes, but away" is because that basically means "Yes, and you'll be spending a fuckton of money more than you are with your current provider because I'm not really fully explaining how all these things work." |
anyone switch over from rogers to wind? was service drastically different in the GVA? have a good plan with rogers but really just dislike the company and do not want to support them any longer. |

service is still good. odd dead spots but not frequent enough to be noticible. especially when you begin to pin point where. otherwise, service is solid and prices are great |
