Most likely not. They usually run port-in promos at the beginning of each of their better-plan promos. Next one is probably mid November for the Christmas season. Expect $100-200 in plan credits as a reward for porting, that seems to be fairly standard.

Looking at jumping ship from Mobilicity, E?

FerrariEnzo 09-20-2012 11:20 PM

man, why cant Wind get the first Note... I really want that but I dont want to go to the states to get the t-mobile version... Since the NOTE II will be out soon, samsung should let all the AWS carrier carry it.. :)

yeah, looking at the S3 now and sick of the 150 MB/hr throttle cap. After they fucked me out of my $2/month off for life promo. I think its time to say my goodbyes to Mobi.

:okay:

:okay:

they didn't do anything to fix that $2/month problem that screwed you?

Graeme S 09-21-2012 03:12 PM

$2/mo? 150mb/day? I think I missed something. Deets are in the mobilicity thread?

nope they said nothing they can do, so the attractiveness of Mobi dropped by that much.

UGH just noticed the AWS S3 is dual core only...fuck.

its 150MB/ HOUR , not day lol!

dub.g 09-21-2012 05:37 PM

meh. i did look into the fact that the s3 isnt running on quad on wind and played around with my friend's LTE s3 from rogers, i hardly notice the difference between the 2 just because i just mostly use fb, email or any online stuff on my phone

and battery life is almost the same, unless your indoors and wind has reception of 2 bars, then it will drain more quickly, although data and calling is still functional

im surprise wind has reception on most part of grouse grind today.. reception was lost just literally 10 mins away from the top

ShadowBun 09-22-2012 12:23 AM

hahaha

me too

1st time grousing and noticed there was reception
and was like :ahwow:

Graeme S 09-22-2012 02:11 AM

Is Rogers' S3 quad? I'm pretty sure that all North American S3s are dual. The Korean S3LTE only came out a month or two ago...and we all know NA is way behind the curve.

i'm no phone guru so excuse me if i'm wrong, but will duo vs quad core on a phone really make that much of a difference?? either way, its really up to the user i guess.

the first time i went to do the grouse grind, i was surprised i was able to txt for most of the time going up. yea it did cut out just before the top, but then it came back on again. i tend to pay attention to my coverage when i'm in areas where i think i'll have 0 reception at all (ie. heading up to cypress i'll have reception. and at the top i'm on away, which isn't that bad at all)

StylinRed 09-22-2012 04:23 AM

does wind still offer those $15 plans?

i know its not listed on their website but iirc theres still posters with the old plans listed in store

willystyle 09-22-2012 06:51 PM

^ No, the $15 plans no longer exist. The closest thing would be the Pay Your Way plans, which may be a better deal.

willystyle 09-22-2012 07:50 PM

So I have revised the original post with some information that will hopefully be valuable for you all.

Want to share my input on how Wind Mobile's warranty service.

I've had the Samsung Nexus for about 10 months now and it all of a sudden wouldn't turn on (tried everything). Brought it in the main center at Thurlow and Robson on Aug 18 (told me it would take 2 weeks to get it fixed).

It's now been 1 month and I'm still on a loaner phone (that won't install / load / run apps).

Not impressed thus far with the time it takes for them to fix a phone.

NSX 09-22-2012 08:27 PM

^^ Yea, be careful any phone you buy is FINAL sale. After the 14 day period, ur pretty much SOL. Im stuck with my never ending problems LG optimus 2x.

What they basically did was shipped your Nexus S back to Samsung to get it repaired. Therefore, the turnaround time is slow. In fact, your case is common and is the industry standard.

Apple is the only cellphone manufacturer that will swap a broken phone with you right on-the-spot. This is the only thing I miss about being an iPhone user - the customer service.

The Pay Your Way plan is actually a better deal then the grandfathered $15 plan because that plan only included 50 minutes of airtime, and 50 text messages within Canada.

Essentially, for $10 per month (20c/min x 50 minutes) for Pay Your Way, you get 50 minutes airtime, unlimited incoming calls AND call display, that's a heck of a lot better deal. Think of it as paying $5 per month less, with more features. For an additional $5/month, you get unlimited North America text. That's a pretty awesome $15 plan to me.

Well pretty pleased to make the switch from Mobi this weekend. This morning clocked 6Mbps down and 1Mbps up. The fastest speeds I've ever seen on my Note.

Good stuff. I guess now that you're on WIND. You and I can help update this thread, assuming that you will be just as active here.

FerrariEnzo 09-24-2012 06:50 PM

Nice.. will the NoteII be an ALL-In-One phone supporting ALL bands... I hope so.. It will also be a big time seller if it was...
