It is still a good no annual fee card if you can meet the minimum annual spend to keep the World Elite status. But for many people I don't think that's possible. https://forums.redflagdeals.com/roge...487/#p32170024 |

Nevertheless, it's not about meeting the minimum. People I know of who has Centurion usually spend close to half a mil on average on their Amex alone before being offered one. But really, it's not exactly a great card other than some bragging right if you don't use the concierge. And it carries a hefty yearly fee. At least 3 persons I know of canceled their Centurion because it simply didn't make sense. |
Wow.. that sucks. I just got this card in Dec, lol... |

Lol I just got this card too. Cash back on Us only instead of all FX is a deal-breaker. Good thing my euro trip is in May, cancel it after that. Considering the Scotia passport infinite as a travel alternative https://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/per...nite-card.html |
Went through that RFD thread and still couldn't find a good replacement for the "everything else" category. Any suggestions other than AMEX Simply Cash? |
Has anyone used to Rogers World Elite card for Car Rental Insurance abroad? |
Man that's BS.. 0.5% net for USD transactions and another 0.25% drop for CAD transactions... Time to wait it out for the next best card or get the Scotia Passport |
RN 1. CIBC Aerogold (20K Aeroplan points, FYF): main card 2. AMEX Cobalt ($100 GCR rebate): For restaurant/food purchases. 3. Stack Pre Paid Mastercard when I am on vacation or going down to the states. |
Umm literally just signed up for the Rogers Elite last week. Still waiting on the card in the mail...ugh |
I been using the most basic TD visa for my everyday purchases for years and Home Trust for online. whats the best card atm for everyday use? the cashback is pretty shitty lol |
I just signed up for Amex Cobalt for my personal card, as a lot of my individual spending is restaurants. For my shared card with wife, which is more gas, groceries and FX/travel, it was Rogers WE but now considering Scotia Momentum or Passport Infinite once June rolls around. |
Scotiabank has an AMEX card with no fxx fee: https://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/per...FQW2fgodB1oB9g No foreign transaction fees You will not pay 2.5% foreign transaction fees on any foreign currency purchases, including online shopping and when travelling abroad. Only the exchange rate applies. 5x eat in & eat out Earn 5x Scotia Rewards points for every $1 CDN spent on eligible grocery stores, restaurants, fast food, and drinking establishments. Includes popular food delivery and food subscriptions. watch & cheer Earn 5x Scotia Rewards points for every $1 CDN spent on eligible entertainment purchases. Includes movies, theatre, and ticket agencies. 3x ride & drive Earn 3x Scotia Rewards points for every $1 CDN spent on eligible gas and daily transit. Includes rideshare, buses, taxis, subway, and more. listen & stream Earn 3x Scotia Rewards points for every $1 CDN spent on eligible select streaming services. 1x everything else Earn 1x Scotia Rewards point for every $1 spent on every other purchase. |
Do restaurants even take AMEX? Seems like a useless card in general imo. |
For dining, consider using Simplii. 4% cash back and everyone takes Visa. Only draw back is I think you need to have an account there (no fees from what I can remember) to apply for it. |

In the last 3 years or so the wife and I have gotten over 5k back from the Costco MC Albeit we shop at Costco a lot and we also spent a bunch on Reno’s etc. However we are also getting our membership fees paid for, the car insurance included in the card are pretty decent, and the value in terms of cash back is sooooo much better than exchanging for flights or gift cards with a card like infinite Avion etc. |

0.5% cash back for the first 3000 bux. 1% after i believe 2% gas? and 3% restaurants (the only thing its good for) but its free, and got your face on it, and dual use membership/MC card. |
Anyone churn for aventura? I used to churn for Aeroplan but thinking of trying something new.. |

May not be the greatest overall, but when you do your majority of shopping at costco and then using it every time for eating out it adds up |

My PC MasterCard World Elite does the rest of the heavy lifting for grocery shopping. ex. Stacking PC optimum points and deals, fill up gas at Mobil 1 stations (not at esso cause it has a terrible return rate) And then there's the home trust visa for international purchases |

Anyone care to give us a quick Coles notes version of it? |

- 1% cash back on everything - no fx fee for foreign transactions New: - 1% cash back on Canadian purchases - 0% cash back on foreign transactions - still no fx fee That's my understanding. |
