it's actually a pretty annoying problem when i can't hang up phone calls and leave people 3minute voicemails everytime

!Yaminashi 09-15-2013 01:29 PM

Isn't there a setting where you can set your power button to end phone calls?
I mean if your screen turns off anyway during phone calls you wouldn't be needing it in that situation.

From reading a couple of the past pages, the price drop has come to Vancouver @ the wind locations?

So it's only sensible to just buy it here in Van, versus ordering on google?

hmm...definitely been out of the loop too long

Around 5 hours if completely on wifi over the course of 12-15 hours of total uptime. If on hspa the screen on time and battery tanks and I get around 2 hours or so. The radio implementation on the s4 pro SOC is garbage.

The phone is not available on Google play Canada anymore so looks like local carriers are the only alternative for brand new.

Yep. I'm sitting stable at -150mV across the board with Franco kernel. I have the "fast" binned cpu.

anyone running slim beans 4.3 build 1? i'm having settings issues where it just crashes after a while

!MiKrofT 09-16-2013 08:36 PM

Did you wipe everything and format system? I think you also need a jwr kernel to avoid the jss deadlocks.

Ordered one from the playstore to test drive Android on the cheap. Is it just my unit or is the battery really that bad?

I'm avg about 4hrs from normal surfing/music/youtube/emails etc. My 3yr old iPhone 4/4s lasts longer than that, did I just get a lemon?

Also, is there a Flac/ALAC player with volume softkeys on the main playing screen like iOS? Sucks that my entire headphone collection is now "volume control-less" and with no on screen vol slider, it just adds salt to the wound.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...layerpro&hl=en

Install this with it to support FLAC (and many other things)

Read the changelog.

Note: mako user who use a 3rd party kernel need to flash a JWR kernel to avoid the JSS deadlocks on mako, even though the complete rom is JSS base. This is only for mako!!!!!
JSS and JWR are the base versions for the ROMs from Google.

Yeah I saw that. I tried to flash the JWR kernel but it ended with my phone being stuck at boot loop. When I flashed JSS kernel I would get screen shutter. So lame

It was on RFD, that's why I was asking lol. Haven't been to any locations yet either. :okay: Might have been Koodoo as well.

Really enjoying the Nexus 4 so far. God it feels good coming from an iphone 5..

Been using Purity Rom.. it is AWESOME. Here's a video going over the features

Just the right amount of customization for me.. I don't like things like "pie" and "halo" and other intrusive features that take up resources.

I am having a couple issues though. NFC doesn't really work that well.. it sometimes reads cards, but sometimes doesn't... strange

Also, my Facebook apps aren't syncing messages in background.. I only get messages when the apps are open.

SiRV 09-28-2013 08:01 PM

I'm running paranoid android 3.99 and the camera quality seems to be crap... I'm only comparing to my S2 LTE (skyrocket) though b/c I rooted the N4 right after I got the phone.

Do roms affect camera quality? I can't really find any information about it

Kim Jong Un 09-28-2013 08:55 PM

That's the main reason why I went and bought a s4 the nexus 4's battery drain like no tmr.

^I forgot to charge my N4 a few nights ago, and it lasted me through two work days .. I unplugged it at around 7:30am on day 1 and it was around 6% at 4:00pm day 2.
- occasional texting/whatsapp
- minimal facebook/email
- no games

SkinnyPupp 09-28-2013 09:42 PM

I last charged mine 21 hours ago and it's down to 70%.. that's with browsing, messaging, and playing about 6 hours of podcasts on the speaker

That's pretty good battery life. All on wifi and stock kernel? Google Now and location services?

I find that using 3g exclusively really kills the battery on this phone. I can make it to 21 hours on my phone but 2 hours of screen on time on 3g is about the limit.

That's all on wifi with phone set to 2G (haven't gotten my plan yet, am on prepaid). With Purity Rom and kernel. Location is on

Yeah 3G drains any phone pretty bad, so this probably isn't a great indicator of performance. I guess the solution might be to leave it in 2G mode most of the time.

BTW anyone in here doing the LTE hack?

I'm using the 33/8X hybrid radio right now. The only issues I seem to have is if the phone is set to LTE only, I receive incoming phone calls half the time.

!Nhan 09-29-2013 01:25 PM

this phone fucking sucks for taking concert video footage, that or i just suck ass at it. covered both mics on top and bottom and audio is still terrible
