funny how i dropped my phone twice corner first on hardfloor and once while trying to catch it while it slipped out only to flip it even higher doing a somersault at metro, and it never cracked or shattered. i'm using the official google play bumper and it doesn't even feel like much protection. lucky much?

Picked up a Nexus 4 today for pretty cheap after breaking my S3. I wasn't intending on spending money on another phone anytime soon..

Iphone 5s is not cheap if I were you I would just use it instead of spending another $400+ on a phone in such a short period of time.
But hey if you plan to sell it after you got the Nexus 5 pm me =D

FINALLY got my phone plan. 5GB of 3G/LTE for $175 a month ($22 CAD), unlimited airtime, 1 year contract

Unfortunately even though I enabled LTE, it doesn't work on this band :okay:

My wife does need a new phone :considered:

FerrariEnzo 10-21-2013 07:46 AM

Has anyone flashed the Ubunto Touch or Firefox OS yet?

Im tempted... but too lazy to keep reflashing my phone... haha
I have tried UT awhile ago.. seems nice.. but some apps I need to use arent working on UT so I gave up and went back to android..

SkinnyPupp 11-01-2013 06:15 PM

4.4 AOSP ports are showing up, anyone giving it a try?

I am waiting for Purity to make the upgrade

Flashed the nexus 5 port build that is supposed to be better than aospa's build. So far I feel the phone is slightly laggy and more sluggish. Opening the app drawer is consistently stuttery. Some people are saying it's because touchboost is not enabled and the overall ROM is unoptimized. We'll see.

There's also a new Runtime called ART that is selectable from Developer Options now. You can switch between Dalvik and ART. I found that switching to ART makes things smoother and snappier but it breaks compatibility with some apps like Whatsapp and TitaniumBackup.

Reverted my phone to bone stock and had it ready to sell and I find out the SIM tray is stuck. Completely stuck. Worked on it for an hour and couldn't get anything done :okay:

Guesses on how much Bill Tan would charge to fix it? Going to go tomorrow morning

CRS 11-03-2013 07:20 AM

Yeah I've flashed various builds and the later ones are better. They fixed Touchboost now and changing the governor to Interactive instead of OnDemand helps as well.

I've found battery life to be worse than before. Not sure if it's because I've been on custom rom + kernel for so long, but I remember stock 4.3 being better than this.

i'll know tomorrow with a full day.

LTE enabled...i cant live without it no more
what sucks is that location services dont work anymore, cm10.2 had a work around in that rom that enabled it to work with lte

Don't you find enabling LTE on this thing really eats the battery? I know mine becomes garbage while on data if I use the hybrid radios. Hell, it's bad enough on regular 3g even in areas with good reception on this phone. :fuckthatshit:

yea, but i carry a battery pack anyways
