Flashed CM 10.1.2 and I really like the stock feel. Phone feels slightly faster (placebo maybe?) and I like how I can finally use DashClock :lol

Missing some of the stock apps though.. and QMemo was pretty handy to take photos of your friends and then draw on them, haha.

you need to install gapps from the recovery menu.

Gapps - CyanogenMod

I meant stock regional specific apps like DMB TV and dictionary applications. I installed GAPPS, but had to reinstall Maps and other Google stuff.. Weird.

Android 4.3 for the Nexus 4 has been leaked:
Breaking: Android 4.3 For Google Nexus 4 Leaks (JWR66N) - Here's The System Dump [Download]

No baseband/radio and bootloader yet. To be ripped tomorrow apparently.

Anyone try restoring in TWRP yet?

GAPPS doesn't usually include Maps or Youtube or some of the other optional things like drive and keep. It's core components like the Play store.

Will probably try after my exam tonight. So far some people have said that battery is slightly improved as well as the phone being more sensitive to light touches.

Other reported changes:
[Disscussion] New stuffs for 4.3 - xda-developers

I flashed the deodexed version with new 0.84 radio.
Not too much different so far from just using it casually.
My People Details for Google sync keeps failing now though lol
The camera UI rotation and t9 dialer are the most obvious changes to me.

I tried upgrading to Ubuntu Touch as well. It feels really nice except I can't really access any of the items inside settings. Did you run into this issue? I can't click anything.

updated to 4.3..but no signs of enabling LTE... does anyone know how to enable LTE without having to root the phone?

You don't need to root your phone. You only have to have an unlocked bootloader.

With 4.3, you can apparently still use the 0.27 or 0.33 radios to get LTE back. I haven't tested myself.

There are also "hybrid radios" that people on xda made that mix the old LTE ones with the new 0.84 radio.
There's a hybrid 0.84/0.27 and also a 0.84/0.33.
Haven't tried them either since I don't care about LTE on this phone, so YMMV.

I did it for my mum on koodo. 300$, then cancelled it after I got home.

So 16gb = 359+tax+shipping on google. koodo = 300$+tax

Didn't get any prorated charges or anything according to rep; said I'll receive a bill for 0$ from koodo in a few weeks or something.

DragonChi 08-15-2013 02:36 AM

So... I'm on liquid smooth from aokp. Much better IMO. Nav ring works from lock screen. No lag when turning on my phone anymore. Only been a few days, but so good so far.

dropped mine in cold fresh water. the bottom half was in the water for 1-3 minutes. turned it off instantly. waited 2 hours and checked on it again. i was able to draw water out of the charging port and speaker. speaker didnt sound proper so i put it in rice. and my phone was back to normal. anyone else have any water damage problems?

CP.AR 08-19-2013 01:04 AM

if Anyone's buying a Nexus 4 on Craigslist can you PM me? I need some help tracking down a stolen nexus 4 that might show up on craigslist.

will give you a small token of thanks if you help me recover the phone ;) (no sexual favours, just some cash or a case of nice beer)

Gucci Mane 08-22-2013 03:55 PM

you can sell your iphone 4s (approx $300) and grab a nexus 4 for the same money (probably even a new one). seriously dude, its miles ahead of the iphone 4s.

Gucci Mane 08-23-2013 09:08 AM

ya, ive got a nexus 7 so i know what the experience is like. my iphone is a little beat up so its going to be worth less. it works absolutely mint though.

Coren 08-27-2013 04:44 PM

Just saw that the Nexus 4 is cheaper on the Playstore. $199 for the 8gb and $249 for the 16gb. Might be the due to the summer sale, so might not be permanent drop. Click the phone on the page to see the cheaper price if it is still showing the $309/$359 price.
