also the Wind locations I have called are apparently refusing to drop their prices as well.... especially the one at Central City Mall, do not go or call there the guy there bullshits like no tomorrow, When I mentioned the price drop, he went into full bullshit salesman mode about how he has to check the phone first to make sure it fits with their carrier, etc... this isn't the only time either, he sold me an almost bum brand new S3 few months back that I had to send back for warranty repair to Samsung, home button was jacked up

had to order one 16 gig from google play store, only 16gb left in stock, i dont even need 8gb, but I do need another phone... $295 after shipping and taxes

Hate to say it but welcome to CL. Some people just don't want to admit/accept that they are in a shitty situation due to the drop and hope that there is a sucker that doesn't do his/her research and buys from them.

It's a known problem with the n4. It has to do with ARP offloading when you're connected to a wifi network and the screen is off. The phone will automatically reject all incoming data under this situation, therefore all your apps that rely on push notifications (eg. whatsapp, hangouts, gmail, etc.) will not receive messages until you turn on the screen and the connection is re-established. This is easily verified by pinging your phone's ip address with a pc when your screen is off. You'll see that the phone will reject all incoming packets until you turn on your n4 screen. This problem with the n4 has existed since it was released until Android 4.3 came out.

The current fix for it involves:
1) Installing Android 4.3
2) Making sure gEnableActiveModeOffload= 1 and hostArpOffload= 1 in the WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini file in system/etc/wifi/ (requires root)

Basically, ARP offloading has now been fixed at the firmware level in Android 4.3 as long as the two flags above are set in the WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini file. However, due to a mistake at Google, the JWR builds (official stock google images and OTA) are still broken (the two flags are set to = 0); while the JSS builds (AOSP/custom roms) it is fixed (the two flags are set to = 1).

If doing the above doesn't fix it, the last resort is to turn off wifi optimization in Settings-->wifi--> advanced which will destroy your battery life since your phone will not deep sleep immediately on screen off.

I have tested this and done this on JWR roms and it fixes mine every single time. However, YMMV, since a bunch of people in that thread are complaining about it still.

yea thats why I stopped using CL years ago, there just doesn't seem to be many reasonable people on there any more. Common sense like bring the money you agreed upon, or have the item be what you described it as all that shit is out the window for most of these idiots now.

on my way to work yesterday I stopped by a Wind location to just grab a case and screen protector and I see they have one Nexus 4 in stock for $250 which is what it would cost from Google Play after taxes and shipping anyway, so I grabbed it on the spot, and picked up a micro sim as well, total was about $300 after taxes for everything. So today I cancelled my order from play store for the 16gb one I ordered yesterday...
but at the store I was told it was the 8gb version, then I came home fiddled around and it says it has 12.92gb of space available, so could this be the 16gb version ?

the salesman who told me it was the 8gb was kind of lost himself didn't seem to know much about the phone, he didn't even know the sim card tray can just be popped open easily, he was trying to unscrew the whole back case open to install the sim..... guess I got a bit lucky then

It says right on the box which version you have (8 or 16gb). Just look at the sticker that has the bar code.

no, nothing on the barcode stickers outside of the box, anything resembling anything is i got the IMEI barcode and the last number is 8, nothing anywhere specifically says GB, just says LG-e960 AVC black black
and the IMEI and S/N barcodes thats' all


EDIT: actually I just opened the box and saw another IMEI barcode sticker thats stuck on the back plate clear screen protector that says 16gb on it

lol, yea guess I did fluke out a little bit.. it's a nice upgrade from my nexus S, i held on from upgrading for a long time, i'm just happy to have a phone that doesn't lag in doing even the simplest tasks like browsing.... and biggest smile on my face is battery life, i had forgotten what proper battery life looked like
