Did anyone order a Nexus 10? I'm thinking of getting one to try and flipping it but I already have a Transformer Prime.

I ordered one.
my consolation prize for waking up at 845am and missing the whole darn thing.

LOL. I waited too long. I had it in my cart but couldn't get myself to pull the trigger. Checked back later in the day and it was sold out. Still undecided though. Oh well. Here's hoping that the Friday stock rumour is true.

meh. it'll be back. its in Google's best interest to keep cranking out low cost handsets to stimulate the Play store business.

you can only sell one phone to a man, but you can sell him apps forever.

I know that you are trying to say and Google is only selling the Nexus 4 near cost to get more ppl buying more apps but "you can only sell one phone to a man"?

People upgrade their phone all the time. Heck I used to switch phones 3-4 times a year.

yameen 11-14-2012 02:15 PM

do you guys think build quality for the 2nd patch would be lower? or am i being paranoid?

sekin67835 11-14-2012 02:30 PM

If anything it should be higher. I think its the same idea as holding back on purchasing a new car model the first year.

id agree with it being higher second time around. Thats why i always avoid the first batch, especially if the release seems rushed. It also gives people time to do some hands on reviews before you drop $400 only to find out youre not in love wiht it.

If someone happens to over ordered, i'm happy to grab one and split the shipping cost.:fullofwin:

FerrariEnzo 11-14-2012 04:12 PM

no matter how prepared you think you are, if you have a sale, your gona be bombarded with tons of people who wants a deal... look at stores on christmas, black friday, etc... they get so overwhelm year after year

Google still has a lot to learn about product launches. Apple may not have it for you right away but at least you can still order it and not have to try and luck out with the next batch.

so I'm going to take it that you're NOT the person posting on craigslist willing to spend $1000 on one.

what im saying is you make and sell a good phone and make $0 per unit after labour, shipping, etc. fine broke even and employees get paid. still in the black.

customers with new phones go onto app store, but 10 billion fart button apps for $1.

thats $10 B profit.

and thats not the only apps they'll buy.

cha-ching. like crack, the first hit is free (from profit)

VS Apple's

charge premium $ for handset for $1000

sell less apps but trap customers in closed ecosystem.

Google sells apps, not phones.

Tim Budong 11-15-2012 11:27 AM

Google sending out backorder notices.
