I called them yesterday, and it ships out today...coincidence? maybe....

If you guys haven't received any correspondence, you guys should just give them a call. I'm pretty sure nothing would've happened with my order until I called.

They've been saying since last week.
If you didn't get a backorder email then the order would ship out on Monday or Tuesday or as google like to call it "tomorrow".

marc0lishuz 11-21-2012 08:09 PM

Then I guess your order went through, but they're not charging your card until the order fills.

!MiKrofT 11-21-2012 09:45 PM

lol. Someone made an app that checks the Play page for changes on the Nexus 4 every 30min..

shenmecar 11-22-2012 09:13 AM

Any RS'er interested in selling their Nexus 4 or have an extra one available?

Lost my old nexus s last weekend and looking to upgrade.

PM me with your price if you are interested in selling. TIA!

marc0lishuz 11-22-2012 03:59 PM

Nexus10 is back in stock but it says...

"Ships Soon
Ships in 2 - 3 weeks. Tax and shipping will be calculated at checkout."

Hopefully the N4 will follow suit.

Alatar 11-22-2012 05:58 PM

My Nexus4 was delivered at 11:15 this morning. I still haven't unboxed it. :p

wstce92 11-22-2012 09:09 PM

I don't understand why they can't just let you buy the damn thing, and say "ships in 4-5 weeks* (*possibly more)"
I just want to buy the damn thing so I don't have to keep refreshing every time I'm at the damn computer.

Graeme S 11-22-2012 09:15 PM

Probably because there's laws somewhere stating "once you have taken a customer's money you must provide a product within a reasonable time, or else they are entitled to a refund and/or damaged based on their expectations."

Plus, Google doesn't need more bad PR. "Google holds thousands of customers' orders hostage!" is a headline I can just imagine.

apparently, someone on RFD and XDA got LTE to work in Canada only.

Simplex123 11-22-2012 09:54 PM

Either way his "LTE" was 9Mbps.. even slower than regular HSPA+ which is ~10-11Mbps

shenmecar 11-22-2012 10:52 PM

This guy claims the same thing on Telus:

Telus LTE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...4&d=1353653069
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...5&d=1353653069

Unless this is an actual LTE phone running AOSP? You can't tell for sure........it doesnt say Nexus 4 anywhere.

Telus DC HSPA (presumably)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...6&d=1353653069

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON? I FUCKING WANT ONE NOW.

Nexus 4 has LTE!! Legit! (Band 4) - YouTube
http://i46.tinypic.com/m0l55.png

cant tell if it is even the N4... you can easily change the text through editing the build.prop file..

marc0lishuz 11-22-2012 11:49 PM

It can't be THAT simple to turn on LTE :fulloffuck:

R5x 11-22-2012 11:54 PM

Seems legit from what I read on xda as well.

Apparently the LTE hardware is functional and left in the nexus 4 but just not enabled by software. It's also apparently missing some sort of 'amplifier' chip for the LTE so the reception will suck vs other 'real' LTE phones (ie. iphone5, htc one X, sgs3, etc.). But regardless, it works and a lot of people have posted clips on YouTube now.

But doens't 4G in Roger's term is HSPA+
Because Rogers use the 4G term quite loosely and they actually have an icon for LTE

S3 for example 4G isn't LTE and when it logs in to LTE network it's labelled as LTE

Graeme S 11-23-2012 12:00 AM

According to Android Authority, LTE only works 1700/2100 (AWS bands). IIRC that's only Bellus, Rogers is using 850 for LTE.

Fuck, it was so much easier when it was just 3G/HSPA. 850/1900 RoBelLus, 1700/2100 WindIlicity. WHY DO THINGS HAVE TO GET SO CONFUSING ALL THE TIME!?

The Nexus 4 is the perfect smartphone, right? For a lot of people, the answer is yes. But folks who have had the pleasure of using an LTE network say they’ll never, ever, go back to 3G. If the video embedded below is accurate, then someone in Canada has figured out how to make the LTE in the Nexus 4 actually work.

Now we know what you’re thinking, does the Nexus 4 actually have LTE, but Google doesn’t advertise it? Apparently yes. All you have to do to enable LTE it to open up the dialer, type in *#*#4636#*#*, and then select LTE. Boom, you’re done.

There are some caveats of course, the LTE only works on the 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz bands, which in America is known as the AWS band. No one really uses that band, so … while it’s nice that this discovery was made, it’s not exactly useful for AT&T and Verizon customers.

So why did Google lie about the specifications of the Nexus 4? They probably didn’t want to offend people. Imagine the PR blunder that would have resulted if Google went ahead and said Canadians can enjoy LTE, but Americans and Europeans couldn’t. There would have been geeks with pitchforks storming the Mountain View campus.

Do you even need LTE? This is a controversial question, because 3G in some cities is downright terrible, while in others it’s frankly amazing. The Nexus 4 is capable of connecting to 42 megabit HSPA+ networks, and speed tests have shown that it can deliver 25 megabits per second down in the real world. Again, not everyone will get those sort of speeds, but do you really need a 50 megabit pipe to your smartphone to be happy? We don’t think so. The only real benefit we see to LTE is the noticeable reduction in lag. Ping times are minuscule, so things “feel” faster.

That's just the labeling that the phone's ROM uses.

A lot of phones show HSPA+ as 4G, some phones show LTE as 4G, and some phones show LTE as LTE.
The speeds they are getting look like LTE speeds. There's no way you get 10+ Mb/s uploads on HSPA+.
