nice
shinkaruk is probably the best pure goal scorer we have at the moment

kwy 09-27-2013 02:26 PM

randomly decided to go to this game and it turned out to be a great one. My friend has Lundqvist on his fantasy team, he was choked.

They'll likely be gone after JS and Kass return, just before we burn their a year of their ELC but for some reason I just have a feeling we'll trade JS in some sort of package deal as soon as he starts playing well

If Shinny can grow an inch or two and bulk up 10-15 pounds he would be more effective IMO.. and when's the last time there's two 18yo's going to be in the lineup?? never? lol

I can see Weise or Seseito on waivers... And one of these two actually crack this team.

Weise is a border line tough guy... he's more of a checking type player... Sestito is a horrid enforcer... our team is soft enough as it is now... lol...brb get pushed around in playoffs even more if either of them get waived

RiceIntegraRS 09-27-2013 04:49 PM

id take weise over sestito anyday. Weise is one of the fastest players on the team and still chip in a goal once and awhile

JesseBlue 09-27-2013 05:45 PM

he's pretty effective right now so he doesn't need to gain more mass...MSL is small but effective, no? this is the exact same thing people said about kassian as well...

let them just develop playing by getting a feel for the speed in the nhl and chemistry with their linemates...

St. Louis is a beast, a once in a generation type of small but awesome player. He's the exception, the rule is a bunch of Gerbe's and Martin St. Pierre's

Yup, because Canucks makes "replicas" which are sold cheaper.

Its aunthentic, premier, then replica.

Wonder which one is the best bang for buck.

I believe the official Canucks replicas are the Premier which are usually about $130 blank. They make these in women's cut too, which look pretty good with the waist hugging. The authentic ones are about $230 I think. Higher grade materials are more reinforced in the shoulders and elbows, but not the same game-ready authentics from a few years ago.

For a fan to wear to games/bar, no reason to get anything more than the Premier IMO.

The NHL season hasn't even started bro.... wait till he does his 9 games, then you can truly determine his effectiveness.

Players in the NHL are bigger, faster, stronger. Everybody knows beefing up does wonders for your game in every aspect. It's quite rare for players not to be building more muscle/mass during the off season.

Pretty much RNH and Skinner are working on that while rehabbing their injuries.. I always love it when people just point to MSL and how small players can be elite. He was undrafted and nobody wanted him. He worked his way through the AHL and it took him like 6/7 years to be truly be "effective". Kane is the player you wanna compare Shinny to. (of course its a stretch, he was 1st overall)

Kassian is a power forward dude... if he isn't big and strong he won't be effective.. lol

And just so you know

MSL is built like a fucking rock.... massive quads and calves compared to anyone his size (or even lots of players in the league for that matter). Shinny is no where close, obviously hes young and will hit the gym hard to work on that

Spoiler!

kwy 09-27-2013 08:34 PM

Gerbe has logs for legs as well..look at his quads, they're insane

Hunter Shinkaruk looks 120lbs soaking wet srs

go look at his twitter pics @H_S_9

JesseBlue 09-27-2013 10:21 PM

another example is hometown boy cliff ronning...steve sullivan is pretty good...cammalleri is good too... i'm just saying that the stuff shinkaruk brought in the pre-season is looking good...and now people are saying, do this and do that and he'll be better...well, there are other means to get better, as i mentioned, like chemistry with your line mates and getting the feel of the big league...

kassian was suppose to be a beast last year and he was from time to time...he was suppose to work out to get leaner and stronger but i like the old todd bertuzzi weight and size better....

JesseBlue 09-27-2013 10:22 PM

speaking of which...i miss the todd bertuzzi of old...we were fortunate to see him in true beast mode...

spideyv2 09-27-2013 10:54 PM

ya bro

Shinkaruk = next St. Louis

I don't wanna bother with you anymore if you think gaining mass/strength isn't standard/necessary going from junior to the big leagues

and just fyi, Kassian came in to camp with just "ok" fitness which makes me question his work ethic. He's missing drive, motivation, and passion more than anything else, he'll have a better season this year.
