Nevermind, I had javascript disabled. Was just showing the first frame (no animation) which didn't have anything funny or remarkable in it.

:drunk:

And I thought it was bad in Vancouver, lulz @ Edmonton.

I don't even think you can use a vape indoors can you? I mean, you can't vape tobacco indoors can you?

So what did all those high draft picks do for Edmonton? Looks like they move up a spot and get to finish possibly 2nd to last instead of last

Just a brief history what picks they had in the last 7 years.

2013 - 7th pick
2012 - 1st pick
2011 - 1st pick (Also 19th pick)
2010 - 1st pick
2009 - 10th pick
2008 - 22th pick
2007 - 6th pick (Also 15 & 21st pick)

Which ended up being these guys.

Jordan Eberle
Magnus Paajarvi
Taylor Hall
RGH
Oscar Klefbom
Nail Yakupov
Darnell Nurse
Sam Gagner
Alex Plante
Riley Nash

Look, I know it isn't easy to build a winner but this is pretty ugly. Under normal circumstances you would see a team make an improvement each year wouldn't you? Even if it's a slow one? I have yet to see much of a difference. If I was a fan I'd be pretty pissed as well.

Not really racist! 03-23-2014 10:42 AM

Oilers fans might as well suicide if they don't draft Ekbald

The oilers issues begin with Management. I've said it many times, their 1980 Alumni needs to stop running the show

Mike Oxbig 03-23-2014 11:39 AM

Players like Hall, RNH, Eberle, Yakupov, Gagner, are all getting free passes to suck because they're promising young players.

Time top break up this core, starting off with gagner and then eberle

Ch28 03-23-2014 01:29 PM

They definitely need to move at least 2 of those young pieces to pick up some defensive help.

Problem with their young players is that Gagner is making $5 mill ad produces 33 points. Yakupov is a complete wreck with roughly the same amount of points and leads the league in worst +/-. No GM in their right mind would make a "fair" trade with the oilers for those two players, even though they're both the most disposable of the group.

Eberle is probably going to fetch the best return and they're probably have to part with him.

Mike Oxbig 03-23-2014 02:26 PM

:derp:- "What if the oilers were smart and drafted these with their 1st overall picks?"

Seguin
Landeskog
Murray

I think Hall is their best bet if they're looking to unload one of them. He can slot in at centre or the wing.

Oilers management wanted Murray but the owner jumped in and vetoed it and had them pick Yakupov.

jeedee 03-23-2014 03:00 PM

I don't even think Murray could save the Oilers lol

Guy has been unlucky with injuries

Tim Budong 03-23-2014 03:04 PM

The only way to save the Oilers is to bring in new management and a brand new mentality to this core

I don't think blowing up this team is going to do much if the management has this retarded thinking

RiceIntegraRS 03-23-2014 03:07 PM

I wonder if we can trade Edler for any one of theses kids.........

Mike Oxbig 03-23-2014 03:18 PM

Oilers are sorta fucked. Even a 1st line star player is not worth a #1 D or a top pairing.

The return will be a shit load doe, similar to these

Quote:

Vancouver Canucks traded Pavel Bure, Bret Hedican and Brad Ference and a 3rd round selection (Robert Fried) in 2000 to the Florida Panthers for Dave Gagner, Ed Jovanovski, Mike Brown, Kevin Weekes and a 1st round selection (Nathan Smith) in 2000.
Quote:

Atllanta Thrashers traded Ilya Kovalchuk, Anssi Salmela and a 2nd-round draft pick in 2010 to the New Jersey Devils for Niclas Bergfors, Johnny Oduya, Patrice Cormier, a 1st-round draft pick in 2010 and a 2nd-round draft pick in 2010 .

A Schneider trade to EDM made so much sense at the time, but the whole "don't wanna trade within division" mentality ruined it. From a hockey perspective, it was the perfect team to trade with

Canucks were forced to trade Bure. There's no comparison there

Oilers also didn't want to pay the piper.

Which is why they're a bottom feeding team. No matter how good your team is, you ALWAYS need a good goalie.
