Costs us nothing and it will not handicap us long term like David Booth. You could even flip him for draft picks at the deadline.

No guy, you clearly dont get it. why bother, when the guy is more injury prone then kesler. hes almost salo level. if we are spending money on players it should be on players who dont have a lengthy injury history. More over hes a player who should clearly stay in the east, the west is too rough for him

I remember vividly because up until that point Naslund way favorite player so I always had the spot light on him. But in the last 2/3 years of him being captain it was a disgrace the way he led this team, if you could call it "leading" the guy was emotionless and his play had fallen off a cliff. If you want to talk about a decline with the Sedins that's the mole hill to Naslunds mountain.

I know what you mean... but I also think we don't really know what happened in the background? Maybe he didn't even want to be captain and was forced into it? I completely agree he looked depressed and downtrodden and I felt like it rubbed off on the team... but I think it's management's mistake for keeping him with the C when it's obvious he wasn't the right kind of guy for that (at least outside the locker room)...... I don't really feel like it discredits what a great player he was though. Just another poorly handled situation by the Canucks on the management side of things.

Bobrovsky rustles Nash's jimmy's by shoving away his stick. Ricky answers back with a shove.

Pandemonium!

Ludepower 03-21-2014 07:20 PM

Hate crashing net goals. Nash has a history of these borderline goals.

What are you Aquilini's accountant? If he's injured it means nothing. That cap space would have been sitting there doing nothing (enlighten me on who you would sign in his place). No one is signing him to a long term contract.

There's no point in signing him cause the nucks aren't winning the cup next year just cause they signed ales hemsky....
The window is closed on this core so it's time to retool, rebuild, or whatever you want to call it.
I'd much rather give that roster spot to one of the young guys so we can develop them.

trancehead 03-21-2014 09:12 PM

even if he gets injured, say we get the IR space

well, the opportunity cost to have even have signed him in the first place was a waste. could have cast another FA
or like f3 said, better just use a kid in the farm rather than even bother with this underachieving hemsky

Jmac 03-21-2014 09:15 PM

And if we wanted an Ales Hemsky, we could've just kept Mason Raymond ... Who would be cheaper, younger, and less prone to injury.

Of course it means something if hes injured, it means the line up you projected to have, isnt there, and it fucks shit up. IF the canucks do add someone..moulson, callahan, stastny, bolland, ott would all suit the team better. They are all physical or have shown the ability to continue a level of play in the west, plus they are more reliable defensively. Its not so much about cash, but the fact Hemsky is not built for playing in the West. Basically for a team like the Canucks(In the pacific division, playing the kings, ducks, sharks so many times + the other big teams from the west that physically dominate) Hemsky is a stupid fucking investment, and if you cant see that, I dont think you understand how to hockey.

Any word on how long Burrows is out for?

GOOD! i find it super annoying when fans bang on the plexi like that.

It looks like Kesler may have hurt himself during practice today:

Kesler back on the ice just 3 minutes after storming off. We'll see how he does for the rest of the day. Hurt himself on a spin-o-rama.

And now Kesler is back. Quick healer... #canucks

We sent Archi back down the other day so we don't have any extra skaters I think.. which means Kes/Daniel will draw in next week

On another note Santo ahead of recovery

I think its time for the Canucks to shutdown guys like Kes and Daniel. No point rushing them back into a season which is basically over.

Malkin beasting this year. Too bad he missed that time with injuries. I think he'd be challenging crosby for the Art Ross.

I'll see if either of them remember where they got that pic from then haha.. unless I start a google search for hilariously racist photos
