Virtanen should start in Utica playing top 6 minutes - agree or disagree? I think he should. Kid needs every confidence booster he can get and playing on a shitty team in a limited role would do more harm than good. Stecher should start in Utica playing top 4 minutes - agree or disagree? As much as I want him to stay, we've got too much of a clusterfuck in D. He can always shuttle back and forth free when someone gets injured or when one of the dmen ahead of him shits the bed and gets traded/waived. |

I also think Stecher is better served to play some time in Utica in the top 4 role and get use to the grind and ice time. I also hope they take a good hard look at Ruttu, Skille, and some of the other PTO's. IMO, Etem has played himself into Utica. |
if canucks are sticking to what they said stetcher will be in the nhl, makes the team better than with pedan or biega. problem with him being in the ahl is that green is really strict with ahl rookies(which is good). meaning for him to get top 4 mins in the ahl he'd have to show over time hes more reliable than subban, biega, pedan, billins, nilsson. (theres also sautner and mceneny down there) he probably would be better suited getting large amounts of minutes, just like with subban. but atm we have way too many veteran #8 and 9's or just ahl vets sitting in the ahl. someone needs to be traded. virtanen to the ahl is a no brainer. the canucks shouldnt have had him in the nhl last year, but the calgary coach/organization was misusing him, and they probably wouldnt have traded him Quote:

Paints Arena sounds horrible. |

Fully agree on Stecher and Virt both going down to Utica to start; unless Stecher can show he's got more game than Larsen and get a spot on the 3rd pairing. |
It's a marathon, not a sprint. Asset management matters. |

I just found it weird they gave the kid 1 pre season game. Sure it's a clusterfuck but there was room to play him a couple of preseason games. |

just based on pre-season play alone Stecher > Larsen Larsen looked lazy, weak and seems to have a shitty time adjusting to the smaller ice in the few games he's played But it's still preseason. If that opinion remains the same 30 games in, it's safe to say Larsen would pass through waivers easily. |
I did remmeber hearing somebody from 1040 saying the corsi numbers were pretty good on Larsen in that game against Calgary was it? I like stecher, reminds me of a young santorelli. Local kid, small size, battles every night. Fan favourite. |
:fuckthatshit: |
I think we will see Stecher sticking around. He's got great skill and work ethic, plus he's a local guy. We've lost far too many local players to other teams. I would like to see him as a top d man one day. |
Throwing him into Utica doesn't mean he's written off. I think he will eventually be with the big club, its just a matter of time. |
unconfirmed twitter rumor says Sekeres has sources indicating Biega and Tryamkin will stay Pedan to be waived for Utica and Stecher to Utica if this is true... :fulloffuck: really? Biega over fucking Pedan? Sure he's a serviceable 7th or 8th dman but Pedan has more potential and will be claimed for sure |
sutter on the pp... :rukidding: |
A for effort  iirc he was decent with the Sedins at the start of last season...so there's some logic Looks like Juolevi sent down to OHL. No surprise...hopefully he comes back better next camp and they don't butcher his development. |
