Olympics is the real tournament and the NHL probably isn't going to participate, which is incredibly lame.

Marchand's GWG celebration was real. I'm sure they were relieved to win but each player skating with the trophy probably felt like a faux Stanley Cup to them.. did for me as a viewer anyway.

That team is so decorated, how are they really supposed to get excited for another trophy the whole world was expecting them to win.

Of course the players have to sell it a bit for the fans, but i don't think there was any over reaction.

I'm surprised as many superstars showed up to play as is. What a fake glorified allstar game. I didn't watch any of the games and hopefully enough people didn't watch it to not have it again.

If anyone is interested, every year I run a Hockey pool (box style) fundraiser for my beer league team. Usually 150-200 people with 1st place around the $1000 mark.

Really hope Stecher gets an extended look and at least starts the season here. The kid is a spark plug and really wants to be here. He was skating miles on a long shift in OT yesterday. I would risk losing players (ie. Biega) to waivers to keep him up here.

^ apparently there were Canucks Stecher jerseys for sale at the game yesterday with the number 51

if they are selling his jersey that suggests he will start the season with the team

Only issue is Stecher is in his first year as a pro.
I can see him getting the 8/9 games in the NHL and then sent down to Utica where he will get to play top 4 minutes which should help him improve and become a legit top 6 guy next year and eventually be a top 4 guy if he can improve at or faster than Hutton.

WD already said he hopes to play the opening lineup in the final 3 pre-season games so good chance of seeing the twins play with Erikkson, Hansen, Sbisa playing on Thursday.
