Stecher to Utica. Hopefully he'll be the first one back when space opens up.

Tim Budong 10-10-2016 09:21 AM

Parenteau being released is an interesting one

dbaz 10-10-2016 09:31 AM

rumours of rodin being out til jan..

6o4__boi 10-10-2016 09:38 AM

If that Rodin rumor is true Canucks better hope Parenteau falls on their lap

Crosby diagnosed with concussion again....that's fucked, he's not even 30 yet and was jus picking up his dominance

dbaz 10-10-2016 09:40 AM

na willie will give dorsett more minutes instead

Tim Budong 10-10-2016 09:51 AM

Crosby being out is pretty shitty news
the guy basically resurrected his career this past year and showed the world why he is the best

hope he isn't out long..Mike Sullivan said it was from Practice on Friday

if Rodin is out, and seeing how Ruutu wasnt on the list of released players, does he make the team?

also...flames put STANLEY CUP WINNER Bollig on waivers

did he have a bad camp?

Jmac 10-10-2016 02:29 PM

Johnny Hockey re-signs with Calgary. 6 x $6.75M

Ronin 10-10-2016 02:45 PM

Too bad about Crosby. His career has been pretty amazing but he hasn't been the same since that hit in the Winter Classic. Imagine how scary amazing he'd be now, just hitting his prime if he didn't have all these concussion problems.

He refound his game this season by being an even smarter player.

His last two seasons were "down years" as he didn't crack 100pts... But from 2010-2013 where the concussions occurred.. Crosby played 99 games and scored 156 pts

I'd say he never did lose his step

SumAznGuy 10-11-2016 08:08 AM

Lots of guys picked up on waivers today.
P.A. Parenteau to NJD.
Pukkinen to Minny.
Griffith to Tor.
Condon to Pitt.
Dahlbeck to Car.

No one for the Nucks.

6o4__boi 10-11-2016 08:33 AM

I can't believe Emerson Etem made the fucking team

:rukidding:

agreed.
I was actually upset about this when my son told me about it. A concussion in practice..... what a waste.

We lose a lot of talent to head injuries in hockey.
  • Eric Lindros was never the same after that douchecanoe Scott Stevens took his head off. Then Stevens career was cut short by his own head injuries.
  • Paul Kariya was one of my favorites until some nickel store goon took him out.
  • Pat Lafontaine was going to bring the Islanders back to glory until head injuries put him off his skates
  • Former Flyers captain Keith Primeau is 6'5" and played at 220lbs, and even his career was stopped after just over 900 games due to concussions.

I've had a couple of concussions in my time, and each one was unique depending on where I got hit. a knock to the front of the head led to waves of emotion and anger. A hit to the side of my head led to issues with balance. Head injuries are fascinating in that they will have a different effect depending on what part of the brain is injured.

murd0c 10-11-2016 08:35 AM

listening to 1040 this morning they were saying the Canucks should pickup Anthony Mantha that Detroit put on waiver's today.

Stevens took out both Lindros and Kariya but but both of those hits were fully clean. He was one of the best Dmen to play the game in my eyes.

Don't forget Naslund was never the same after his concussion.
And I am sure there was more, but they never knew what we know now about concussions.

6o4__boi 10-11-2016 08:47 AM

I don't think Mantha was put on waivers
He doesn't require it to go down to AHL

murd0c 10-11-2016 09:08 AM

What the hell were they smoking on 1040? Ray even said the Canucks should pick him up if no one else does

the same shit Canucks brass smoke when they make management and roster decisions

hard to believe Canucks passed up on Parenteau. Wrong side of 30 sure, but cheap expiring contract. I'd say he's a lock for 15 goals and 35 pts this year which is more than Etem/Dorsett and either Ruute/Skille/Virtanen combined will score this year.

Virtanen shouldn't start in the NHL. Makes absolutely no sense for him to play bottom 6 Willie minutes (aka 10-12 minutes) a night when he could be playing top 6 and getting 20+ minutes in Utica.

That said, the Canucks will probably keep him...because first part of my post

punkwax 10-11-2016 09:16 AM

Ray was saying that about Pukkinen yesterday going on about how he has an insane shot.

Ray also said his skating isn't up to NHL levels and might not be able to make the space to get that shot off.

SumAznGuy 10-11-2016 10:09 AM

Ruutu released from PTO.
No decision on Skille yet.

6o4__boi 10-11-2016 11:13 AM

Lol said Etem making it too early

Etem on waivers tmr
Looks like Skille will be signed
Rodin on IR
Tryamkin and Gaunce makes the team

dbaz 10-11-2016 11:39 AM

ffs virtanen should not be on the team. dumb fucks should of grabbed parentau/pulk till rodin was better, and put virtanen in the ahl for lots of playing time. now hes going to be getting benched in the nhl instead. waste of development time

First off, Kariya's career was ended by an elbow thrown by Kaleta while Paul was wearing a Blues jersey. Although the Stevens hit was huge, it wasn't the last straw for Paul. I've watched the footage numerous times, and I disagree that it was clean. It was shoulder to head, at least 3 seconds after Paul made his pass. I get that the NHL was different back then, but maybe that's why most of our heroes from the 90's had short careers.

The Lindros hit was another bullshit shoulder to jaw hit. Stevens was a hell of a dman, but he destroyed a lot of careers in his time on the ice. He was just a mean cunt.

Poor Nazzy.
He was another star extinguished by a goon.
