The fact that weapons constantly break down is what keeps me from continuing on. It's annoyingly frustrating to have to farm weapons and keep a bunch on you at all times.

Araaadi 07-17-2018 08:47 AM

Completely agree with everything said. I really wanted to get into this game but I can’t, just kinda want to get it over with and try to trade for Mario tennis. Twilight Princess with the wii release was much more fun of a game.

Presto 07-17-2018 08:48 AM

Good weapons are plentiful as you progress through the game. I went for the Master Sword as soon as I could, though.

Same. Once you get the Master Sword, gg.

I came to a point in the game where I consistently came across good weapons. I even had an arsenal of strong weapons that I saved for big bosses or Lynels. Some of these strong weapons I even mounted in my in-game home

Hondaracer 07-17-2018 02:51 PM

also gathering them Korok seeds and upgrading weapon slots is crucial early on so you can always carry enough weapons into the dungeons etc.

Honestly i am thoroughly happy with BoTW in almost every aspect except the story lol :(

kinda want to get Tennis but not for fucking $79

SkinnyPupp 07-17-2018 02:56 PM

I haven't seen the sword mentioned in the game yet... I'm trying to play through without walkthroughs.

But where do you find hammers? I got one hammer early on in the game, but of course it broke, and I haven't seen one since.

I'd pay for a modded version with proper weapons, and music from the old games

UnknownJinX 07-17-2018 03:13 PM

I haven't been play BotW much. Too addicting of a game and I won't be able to stop once I pick up.

I am fine with everything except for rain.

FUCK YOU, RAIN. You are just as annoying as you are IRL.

Hondaracer 07-17-2018 05:24 PM

find a rock overhang and camp till that shit passes!

What a fun game mechanic 4Head

Hondaracer 07-17-2018 06:29 PM

Damn your hard to please lol

Certain things only happen when it’s raining but that’s later on

Figure out which Shoppers Drug Mart carries Switch games, and be ready for their 20%-off events. I just bought BoTW again, and saved $16.00 (from $80).

it definitely ain't worth $80

damn thats how much switch games are now?

Mario Tennis was $360hkd new and came with a stupid coin purse...

but I couldn't get into the game.

Presto 07-18-2018 02:35 PM

Frederic 2 is a rhythm game that's on sale for $0.49, right now. I used my gold coins to buy it, and it's pretty decent!

!LittleDragon 07-18-2018 03:19 PM

BOTW is probably the first game I legit finished ever.... lol... I haven't had a game system since the first NES. I'm too used to PC gaming where I can god mode through just to get through the story.

I played BOTW on a Wii U though. The gyro aiming with the gamepad really helped. I tried playing it with the pro controller and it sucked... lol... took me about 6 months to finish it @ maybe 2 hours/week?

Gyro aiming is fantastic.

Reminds me of my experience with Majora's Mask 3D. The Octorok shooting mini game in Clock Town was fairly easy with the gyro aiming on the 3DS.

Then I played the N64 original... That mini game turned into a nightmare that took me at least a hundred tries to get right with the joystick.

SkinnyPupp 07-18-2018 07:42 PM

Why do they make you require cold resistance items in a dungeon which doesn't give you cold resistance items during exploration? If you use them all up before finishing, you have to leave and go fucking grind for resistance food or rupees to buy shitty armor.

This game is actually quite shittily designed in these ways... but in some ways it's so good which makes it even more baffling. WHY did they make these dumb decisions or breakable weapons, rain, cold gear.. just shit that annoys you for no reason at all.

Presto 07-21-2018 11:31 AM

I like the design. You're not restricted from going anywhere, but sometimes the challenge will be beyond your current equipment/capability. I have the option of grinding it, or coming back when I'm more prepared. It's easy enough to warp back to a shrine

SkinnyPupp 07-21-2018 03:02 PM

It's not a challenge though... I dunno I just think it's really poor design that Nintendo gets away with because they're Nintendo. There is still a lot to enjoy about the game though.

Unfortunately my sis took her Switch with her for a trip so I won't be able to play it for like 2 weeks WutFace

Tim Budong 07-21-2018 10:47 PM

4th generation monster hunter.. supposedly a lot harder too

hmmm

extracrunchie 08-19-2018 08:48 PM

Just got the SX OS pro and I am really impressed by it. Was able to back up my NAND and now playing SNES roms on my switch :fullofwin:

ForbiddenX 09-19-2018 10:17 AM

Nintendo Online launched last night. Did anyone sign up? $24/yr doesn't seem all that bad including the NES games

I haven't really played my switch much these days but trying to get through Octopath Traveller.

Looking at picking up Undertale next as I've heard good things on it on PC. Never got the chance to play it.

Hondaracer 09-19-2018 01:44 PM

I didn’t really care for undertale, I probably played about 2.5 hours into it and just the gameplay and story is weird and seemingly repetitive

It’s nothing like some of the games it is sometimes compared to like Earthbound etc

i got online in a family plan. 8 people costing a total of 6.30/year per person.
once more games support online play would be better.

Hondaracer 10-09-2018 05:17 PM

$92 for a Mario party with 4 game boards? Like fuck off Nintendo..
