that makes me really happy, they do truly deserve it. Such humble guys, the nhl is going to miss them and not just the Canucks.

I thought it was a nice touch having Andrew Ference present it to them.

Trotz closing in on agreement to be NYI head coach. Will he have to get rid of his goatee to work for Lamorello? Will that be in the contract?

Now Tavares will probably stay.

Let me get this straight ... NHL and NBA are having their drafts on the same day and same time?

Nvm ... NBA today, NHL tomorrow.

pastarocket 06-22-2018 07:17 AM

Benning mentioned on News1130 radio this morning that this year's deep draft should give him the chance to draft d-men who have the potential to be blue chip players.

Has anyone heard what d-men are available in the draft besides Dahlin and Bouchard?

Markus Granlund signs extension
1yr only 1.475m

murd0c 06-22-2018 11:36 AM

that's a great extension and price by the Canucks, that's a no brainer move for sure.

68style 06-22-2018 12:26 PM

He had a shit year last year and he knows it... last gasp

murd0c 06-22-2018 03:01 PM

Man I'm nervous about the draft, the Canucks better not trade the pick dammit

Uhg..

Burke: “that’s a small body..a small body..”

Ffs..

He looks tiny compared to Rasmus

Obsideon 06-22-2018 04:31 PM

I won't pretend to know much about the scouting but he looks like a 12 year old boy... but boards had him top 5 so that's a good thing?

Liquid_o2 06-22-2018 04:38 PM

I was hoping for either Dobson or Hughes. I'll trust Benning on this one here... Canucks have never had a dynamic PP quarterback. A lot of scouts are saying his defensive game is solid as well. One of the best skaters in the draft. He is only 5'10", but in this new NHL, I don't think that matters. He is definitely the biggest defensive prospect the Canucks have had since Luc Bourdon.

murd0c 06-22-2018 04:39 PM

Hughes is a fantastic move, I didn't think we would have a chance at drafting him so talk about lucky. Fuck now Edmonton gets a awesome Dman

Hondaracer 06-22-2018 05:02 PM

All reports I’m reading are saying 5’8, 180lbs

Fuck so sick of small players uhggghggg

Hopefully works out

Hughes is the best skater in the draft, great player. Size isn't favourable but it's not everything.

highfive 06-22-2018 05:25 PM

Guy is 5-10 i think.

Lets get his brother next year!

Damn

islanders got a good pair of wahlstrom and dobson.

That isn't even remotely true.

Jmac 06-22-2018 06:07 PM

Erik Karlsson was drafted at 5'11" 165 lbs, currently listed at 6'0" 191 lbs

Quinn Hughes is listed at 5'10" 174 lbs.

Ryan Ellis is 5'10" and Hughes is still growing. The new NHL is quicker with smaller players that can skate and move the puck. Hughes fits the mold perfectly .
