Is there even a way she can flee? Passports are surrendered and her name is flagged at airports. She has 24/7 security monitoring her and an ankle bracelet.

Only way I can possibly see something happening is if she flies out on a private jet direct to China with no one stopping her. Not sure how plausible that is.

Maybe someone else can chime in here. I'm really curious.

MG1 12-11-2018 05:14 PM

Passports are surrendered...............

You know when you see a cop at the side of the road and you say to yourself......... where there's one, there's at least two more up the road.

They took all the passports they knew of.

I was thinking plastic surgery, but then thought, she would have had one by now......... okay, gonna stop now before skinny chirps in with............ nvm. Nuff said.

Glow, you must have a good clip of people taking off their masks, glowlolol.

That break in wasn't a break in. They snuck in a make up artist, fraud passport expert, etc. Ankle bracelets are put on. Anything that is put on can be disabled/rerouted/whatever and taken off or transferred. For all we know, the arrested person is just a double and the real person is in hiding. Yeah, I've been watching too much tv, hee hee. Matlock!

noclue 12-11-2018 05:59 PM

Super easy for her to get away with the kind of money she has.

Drive to YVR south terminal at 2am, board a gulfstream direct to China avoiding alaska. Canada doesn't have an exit control so doesn't matter if she gave up her passports.

Me thinks once she loses the appeal she'll flee.

Hondaracer 12-11-2018 06:07 PM

Will be interesting to see what happens. But yea even if you had to drive up to kamloops or somthing and jump on a PJ you would think somone of her means could get out

All this shit just goes to show even moreso how fucked up the LML is and the type of influence these Chinese with govt. connections have

iwantaskyline 12-11-2018 06:16 PM

Canada should do all it can to avoid any payback from China, let the US and China deal with this. Imagine the public outcry if China arrested Elon Musk.

One young man with a brown-dyed feather cut chatted amiably with reporters about the case. But he said he was worried he might not fit in the packed courtroom after the lunch break, before cutting to the chase: could the South China Morning Post deliver a “proposal” to Meng’s husband, Liu Xiaozong, please? He proffered a handwritten letter, neatly folded.

Rejected – but undeterred – the enterprising attendee not only fit in the courtroom by walking in with reporters, he squeezed into a prime position in the front row directly behind Meng – and right next to Liu Xiaozong and one of Meng’s lawyers. It’s not clear whether his proposal was delivered.

Passports only apply to us poor people.

She has enough money and power (China backed) that all she needs to do is jump in a private jet and she'll be gone.

She had what, 7 passports? And that's just what we know of. If she can throw down the kind of money needed for her bail that easily she has the means to get away from 2 security escorts and be gone before the tracker even matters.

josayeee 12-11-2018 08:32 PM

Googled her address and now have a sudden craving for Mexicali.

twitchyzero 12-11-2018 08:32 PM

if her husband actually lives here, i dont think she is going anywhere
but he's probably only here 1 out of 365 days in a year at best
then I can see her fleeing if China orders a Navy SEALs-type extraction with stealth blackhawks SwiftRage but that would mean neutralizing Canadian protection :okay:

China has sooo much to lose if they go ahead with this lol.

welfare 12-11-2018 10:04 PM

Instead of swooping in with private jets and black op commandos, wouldn't it make more sense for China to just put pressure on Canada?
I'm sure they've got a number of levers they can pull on us.

Adorkami 12-11-2018 10:16 PM

If China just claimed Trump is using her as a bargaining chip what is to stop them from allowing her to go to their consulate and then taking a helicopter to international waters to take a yacht back home?

i'm thinking way before she loses the appeal.

based on trumps response to all this...Canada should try to bail on this responsibility ASAP.

Mr.Money 12-11-2018 10:50 PM

if our government has proper Intel on her from what USA is saying they should've raised her Bail properly to 200 million and see what happens.

I'm not entirely convinced the Americans plan to prosecute her. A lot of people have been asking "why now?" when they had the opportunity to arrest her in the past and the future. Trump has basically given away that they're gonna use her as a bargaining chip for the trade talks.

All three governments are probably gonna wait for the media and public attention to die down, a few million in fines handed out and then she'll disappear back to China.

Also, these recent developments once again remind me that I need to get the fuck out of this area and move somewhere with my OWN KIND.
