My second Pfizer shot definitely made my arm more sore today compared to the first dose, but that's about it as far as side effects go.

Traum 07-07-2021 01:21 PM

I'm almost at the 7 week mark after my first Pfizer shot, and I haven't been notified to book my 2nd dose yet.

Judging by what I see in my social media feed, it seems to me that quite a few of the people I know have been vaccinated more quickly than I have. Some have had their 1st dose earlier than I did even though they are younger than I am. And then there are others who had their first dose later than I did, but have received their 2nd dose already.

I have no clue why that is happening, although it does seem a bit strange. But hopefully I'll get my 2nd shot soon enough.

Lots of reasons why some that are younger received theirs earlier like hot spots, workplaces, etc etc.

If you want some kind of timeline:
1st shot - May 8
2nd Shot - June 26

So around 7 weeks from first is when you typically get your registration link.

StylinRed 07-07-2021 01:58 PM

I received my first shot May 7th and had my second shot on Jul 4th could've had the second dose a few days sooner, but didn't have the time to go

pastarocket 07-07-2021 01:58 PM

^ it would be a shame if some unvaccinated and anti maskers died, it's happening in the US already

CRS 07-07-2021 02:17 PM

Say it with me guys...

Unvaccinated people are variant factories.

I got my 2nd dose notification exactly 7 weeks after my first dose so if you're close to 7 weeks you'll probably get it soon

Enjoy the reopening while you still can,

You'll get your notification exactly 7 weeks from your 1st shot.

Should add my notification for my 2nd dose was texted to me on June 25th, so ya 7weeks

Great68 07-07-2021 03:47 PM

I got my notification and booked for dose 2 yesterday. Booked to get the shot on the 25th (earliest available was July 19th but I'm going away fishing)

My first dose was may 18, so yeah pretty much 8 weeks to the day

AzNightmare 07-07-2021 03:50 PM

Got my 2nd shot today, Pfizer both times.
So far, no symptoms other than my shoulder being sore, like any other shot.

Will report back tomorrow if something escalates.

I'm thinking about holding off my second dose until after the long weekend in September, am I a bad guy for that? First shot was May 31st.

We have quite a few trips this summer, and I'm at the beach all the time.

I can't be having a 5 day diarrhea spell like the first shot..

This is RS. Nobody judges anybody, amirite?

Hee hee, hue hue, pew pew……………….

SkinnyPupp 07-07-2021 07:53 PM

It's coming out that the BioNTech vaccine (distributed by Pfizer in most of the world) can now be stored at 2-8°C for a month.

This should help quite a bit. They're going to start letting clinics give the vaccine here.

iirc you're mostly good to go with the first shot and the second is what gives you the longer-term protection, but I'd wanna check if there's going to be a reduction in the effectiveness if they're taken too far apart. before they were proposing 4 months between shots and you'd only be at 3 and a bit so I'd imagine you're fine?

That said, how do you know it was the shot? there's a bunch of stuff out there that can fuck you up like that, I seem to have had it happen more than most people though.

DJ Milk 07-08-2021 02:22 AM

My first dose was May 18 and got my booking email July 6, so exactly 7 weeks. I could have booked it for the same day but I decided to book the appointment for July 7.

The place I went to had both Pfizer and Moderna and they will match your first dose

Ludepower 07-08-2021 06:18 AM

They let me choose my 2nd dose and I stayed with Pfizer. No side effects for both of my shots.

Went to Vancouver Community College instead of Vancouver Convention center. Super smooth and fast process with plenty of free street parking around.

Covid is over for me. Im gonna block out the negative news. Anti-vaxxers can go die catching the variants.

The booking site refreshes pretty often. When I was looking for an earlier appointment, I checked in a few times a day to change it.
