I have a good supply of KN 95. I'm so used to wearing masks, I can't imagine going anywhere without one now. I even wear masks when gardening. Keeps nasty stuff out of my lungs (allergy relief). I'm fully vaccinated, but I'm not going to take any chances. The vaccines are not a cure. People who have had covid and recovered from it might not be out of the woods. Chances are it'll come back to haunt you later on in life. So much shit in the air........... Spoiler! |

My second dose was Moderna. Pfizer was at the site, but reserved for 12 to 18 year olds. a few people were really upset. The guy behind me looked like he was going to die from an anxiety attack. I thought about it for about 30 seconds and said, "What the fuck." I feel a little left out, here. No bad side effects. Sore arm day after was about it. Maybe mixing the two was a good idea??? I had more soreness from the Pfizer. |
Wife went for Pfizer at Sunset today. Can confirm they had both Pfizer and Moderna available. |
I just made an appointment for my 2nd shot. They said it will either be Pfizer or Moderna. |
Drove my MIL to Fortius for her 2nd dose this morning. They are only offering Moderna, and thankfully, her first shot was also Moderna. It did make me wonder though -- if she was offered Pfizer and she chooses to turn it down, do we just book again for another time, and hope that the same shot as she had before is available? |
^ that’s what they told my friend. They will cancel the appointment and then you’re back in the system to just book another appointment, again, without knowing which you will be offered |

It's absurd that they just give you whatever they have willy nily, with studies around the world still pending on whether that's even effective. I really hope it ends up working out OK. At least they're both mRNA. The non insane anti-vax people, at least the normal people who are skeptical, are right that a lot of policies are being done without enough thought. Desperate times and all that, but wow. They don't HAVE to be this casual about it. China is being super careful with their vaccine program, and even then they may have to give people a third dose, because resulting antibodies of their vaccine is quite low. |
Moderna CEO is already prepping for the need to have booster shots. |
Got my 2nd shot yesterday and with the combination of this heat, im getting my ass kicked. Alil fever, dry ass throat, running nose, alil headache. But im starting to feel abit better now. First shot was AZ 2nd shot was Moderna |
Something to keep in mind. When you get boosters for your immunizations, they literally NEVER look at the brand of the previous vaccination. Your second covid shot is a booster. |
I still think if these vaccines were engineered with 2 doses in mind then they should give people whatever their first dose was for their second shot. Over the next month they should get enough of both vaccines to be able to coordinate this shit a little better than "the first shot available is the best one". Yeah that's what you said about AZ. |
Pull up any paper from the states regarding mixing etc. Places where they have enough supply to provide the same shot twice and you will come across the statement of “mixing is only required in ‘extraordinary’ circumstances” |
Got Pfizer for my 2nd shot at RR Casino. They were offering both |
When I received the Moderna after the Pfizer, I asked if a third shot was doable. I should have cancelled and waited, but by the sounds of it, Pfizer shortage was all across the country. Better to get the second shot now (Moderna) while I could, was my thinking. I'll see if a third shot (Pfizer) a month or two later is possible. If it isn't available, I'll just keep cancelling until I get that second Pfizer shot, lol. Something tells me booster shots are going to be recommended in the future........... 'cause nobody has the answers. BTW, nobody could answer my question. Par for the course. |
People should do what they're comfortable with. I just think you shouldn't be coerced into taking whatever is available just because you're already there. At this point I've had Pfizer for my first shot and I've yet to receive my text for the second dose appointment. I might just wait until both shots are readily available before I go and get my second dose. My guess is by the end of August there will be tons of both shots available and since I'm not planning to get on an airplane before then it doesn't really matter. Apparently Covid Delta+ XXL Deluxe is immune to all the vaccines anyways so who cares right, we'll be still wearing masks and back in lockdown by October anyways right? |

There's a lot of articles saying mixing is OK, esp Pfizer and Moderna which are similar enough. Is there a reason why people prefer to not mix and match? Or just for the sake of using the same one twice seems safer? I'm booked for next week but I can still cancel, or decide to bail if it's Moderna, but I haven't really decided yet. My wife does customer service so she kind of feels inclined to take the 2nd shot since it's better than not... and I'm just following suit cause I live with her. lol.. |
I got a booking link and see appointments for the next couple of days available, should I book a later date so that my second dose is at 8 weeks. |
Got my second shot yesterday. Had Pfizer first shot, and got booking link yesterday to get my second shot. Managed to find a place in Surrey that had a time slot but they only offered Moderna, I then rebooked for another same-day appointment at Fortius and saw this thread saying it was Moderna only too. Did some digging and found out that Convention Centre was offering both and kept refreshing the booking page and snagged an appointment and got Pfizer. IMO: Book something farther out and then click in to reschedule and wait for cancelled appointments to pop up. You can 100% find same-day appointments. |
Watching highlights of full stadiums and arenas in the US and abroad from the NBA and NHL playoffs to MLB games and Euro 2020 has just gotten infuriating. Meanwhile Canadiens fans in Montreal are limited to 3500 people in the arena but they allow this on the streets: https://globalnews.ca/wp-content/upl...P125663599.jpg It's become such a virtue-signalling political bullshit fest it's a national embarassment. We're the laughing stock of the first world. The country should be wide open and back to full operation, masks left as personal choice. This countries politicians from Federal to Provincial have failed ALL of us and are just playing partisan games at everyone's expense at this point. Fuck them. Please remember that during the coming elections. |
The laughing stock of the first world? :lol I was told yesterday that BC was the only part of North America that managed to keep schools open for inside learning for kids. That’s something to be proud of IMO. Two sides to every coin. Nice try using hockey games to push your agenda to a Canadian audience though LUL |
