I mean, fuck NYR too, Rangers were 18th overall in 19-20 but got the first pick (Lafreniere) when they qualified for that secondary lottery for losing in the qualifying round of playoffs. Also stole their best dman (Fox) from Calgary because of the stupid college rules.

I'm sort of the opposite I kinda laugh at the situation that they had so many #1 overall picks and went with the #1 ranked player every time and sort of got burned on it every time until McDavid. I mean Taylor Hall meh, RNH, and Nail. RNH being the only one that survived and while he ain't bad he definitely ain't #1 caliber not even close. Though they won the ultimate prize in McDavid :okay:

Well in his 9 seasons prior he had six 20 goal season, two them he scored 28 goals. Goon or not he could score though for sure who would have thought 50 was possible. Based on his history I would have expected a ceiling and breakout of maybe 40 goals tops.

Oilers playing with a handicap though, they don't know which mike smith will show up to play. This series is going to be dependent on his performance.

Mike Smith has been playing better than Darcy Kuemper. Kuemper's save % is barely above .900. He's been winning solely based on the players in front of him.
