We win! Martin battled hard tonight. -made timely saves. Kuzmenko with the sick goal in the shootout. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Would be shocked if Canucks didn't win way more shootouts than they lost |

omfg, take a fucking shot already. 13 mins no shots and we've had 2 powerplays  |
Looks like Connor Hellebuyck is going to get his 5th shutout.......... |
Well, that didn't take long, gulolol.............. If the knuckleheads tie this game, I'll be an uncle's monkey............ |
Allvin is NOT very articulate. Terrible After Hours interview ...painful to watch. |

Another 5-1 game ... who's still on the let's try to make it to the playoff train? Who's on the tank for the best chance on local boy, Bedard train? |

No guarantee on Bedard, and even with Bedard, no guarantee the team becomes successful. A series of proper management moves are far more important and we've had two eras of incompetence despite having a talented core with potential and assets. I really don't see how tanking is going to help build a better team. If we even had McDavid, our defense still sucks like shit with management that don't know how to fix it. |
How can you fix it, its literally impossible to get rid of OEL. For 4 more years AFTER this year... He's chewing up like 12% of the cap all by himself. |
I'd never want my team to tank. If they start tanking, I'm gone. Try your hardest, put on a good product, give me something to root for. |
Even if you finish dead last you only have a 16% chance of first pick... it's not worth it. |
Funny. Not too long ago everyone was all about the tanking. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Bettman will never allow Vancouver to ever get 1st overall. |
Official tanking ... or team comes out with no effort, what's the difference? |
I could hear chants of "Sell the team! Sell the team!" during the broadcast of the game last night against St. Louis. If only there was a billionaire who loves the Canucks so much that he would buy the team from Aquilini. A new owner who hires competent management who know how to build a team the right way to become a legit Stanley Cup contender. It's not just the players. It's management and ownership who are driving this franchise to the ground. |
I wouldn't be surprised if Aquaman made them sign Miller vs trading. |
^ I honestly doubt that, myself.. Aquaman is too easy of a scapegoat in the Miller situation IMO. Sure, blame him for plenty of other matters but perhaps not this. I’m pretty sure I’ve said it here before but despite his offensive stats, I firmly believe that Miller’s piss poor attitude (which was on high display in the bubble when everyone could not only see him acting like a child instead of a pro, but also hear him consistently being a dick of a teammate) limited not only his trade value but also the amount of teams interested. If he had half of Bo’s positive demeanour the Canucks probably would have been able to not only ship him out for far greater of a return than what they were offered, but he’d likely have landed a bigger contract as well. It could’ve been a win-win but Miller is seemingly his own worst enemy. The Canucks are stuck with him for now it seems. If they can somehow move him soon and use that money to keep Bo instead, I think it’d not only help enable the team to become contenders much sooner than the path they’re currently on, but also ignite a ton of faith in the new management group amongst the fanbase. If Bo leaves and Hughes pulls a Tkachuk to move down south after not being named as an untouchable recently, these days will seem bright compared to darker ones ahead. We’ve all seen the memes on how depressed he can look at times. But hey, resting bitch face is a thing so maybe that’s just how he looks at times. Finger crossed  If Bo leaves keep Petey at all costs. If he’ll stick around that is… fack the thought of losing such a promising young core is sickening. I could keep on going about the Linden firing, Boeser not becoming the 40-50 goal scorer he had projected to be early on, good players leaving the team due to a “cliquey” room etc. but it’s becoming too depressing to go on as I type. If only the Canucks had won in 2011 as they should have. Then I’d like to think I wouldn’t give as much of a shit as I do now. But here we are WutFace |
I've always wondered if the Canucks issues were even greater then management and ownership (of course they're a big problem as well). What I mean is from a city standpoint, curious if this city in general just carries a terrible lack of attractiveness to players writ large? The cost of housing, high taxes, extreme and heightened hockey media presence, shitty and reactive fans. I wonder if all these factors deter players from wanting to play here, or when they do get here, become totally disenfranchised over time? |
^these are all factors for sure. Look at the Florida teams. I don’t think the tax situation there is hurting their chances to get players on the cheap. Plus there are plenty of other reasons that pro athletes would enjoy living there :ifyouknow: |
